hot spurs sucked on the last day look at what rlegated burnley did to them
congratulations to them for getting to fourth
God to burnley after their tough season they still play giant killers! What a comeback. Sad to see the quality of fletcher and nugent go to.
fletcher, nugent, paterson.. decent players actually
this just shows how important gomes is to the entire defence. without gomes spurs defence is a joke.
Gomes has done very well since Harry came on board but he is probably the worst player on the team. They need a world class keeper if they want to challenge the top four again next season.
Sorry but I don't agree with neither of you. Urban, this is the best Spurs defence since the mid 80s and I would suggest one of the best defences in the EPL.
NotsoWiseone, Gomes IS a world class keeper, that's why Harry kept him on when he had problems settling in. Employing Tony Parks gave Gomes the support he needed and he has paid it back thousandfold. In Holland they will tell you that Gomes was the no.1 reason that PSV Eindhoven won 2 of the 4 league titles when he was there. Gomes also has the all-time record for highest percentage of clean sheets in the Dutch Eredivisie. Many excellent Dutch goalkeepers have come and gone, also in England (incl at Man Utd..), but it's our Brazilian mate Gomes with the record! In another month's time he might also contribute to Brazil lifting the World Cup trophy again, as he is that very rare thing; a world class Brazilian goalie!!
It's just about making excuses because he's embarrassed about losing to burnley. Fair enough Burnley have been terrible in the second half of the season, but thats the defence, really the attack has never been lacking much, it has had potential and has caused damage all year, so you can't blame tottenhams defence, the keeper, or any player in particular. The whole team just looked tired, compared to burnley who had nothing but desire, it was always going to end that way
how can you say gomes is "probably the worst player on the team"?? he alone saved spurs in so many games, especially those two wins against chelsea and arsenal, seriously watch some games from this season and you will realize that gomes is a great keeper
i'm just saying gomes is an integral part of spurs defence. look at the goals conceded, they are not world-class strikes at least not the first one. if gomes is around, he would have saved it i'm pretty sure.

King is not as good as he used to be 2 years back. he is finally showing signs of him not training. left back is a joke -> 3rd or 4th goal.
Yes, the third goal - look at the rest of the season!
great goal modric, and burnley... awesome at the least can't believe it.
great goal modric.well done burnley
great goal by modric.

hilarious commentary when burnley scored their first goal
In the entire season only Burnley managed to score 4 goals vs Spurs. There might be lots of different reasons why Burnley simply were better than Spurs in the 2nd half. We can only be happy that it was only in the very last 45 minutes of the season that our players stalled and packed-in, when the result itself didn't matter too much.
Looking at Burnley's four goals, the first (in the 1st half, when Spurs still were playing football) was quite brilliant, the second and third were blunders in the Spurs defence (amongst the very few this season), the fourth should probably been dealt with by the goalkeeper. Without making Alnwick the scapegoat this also illustrates the difference between having an ordinary vs a superb goalkeeper between the posts. Had Gomes played I believe he would have saved at least two of the goals (and the defence might not have been allowed to fall asleep in the first place).
great work by Burnly, shame MC should be 4th
have.2.say.it.again.GREAT.GAME....:D
WHAT.A.GAME.....where.was.that.all.season
Absolute pleasure to watch. Burnley had a couple of great games this year (their second game, and this one in particular). Too bad to see them go.
This is how it's difficult to win away from home, even if 2-0 up.
dont work stays on advert :S
WHAT THE HELL? what happened to spurs in the second half? well, anyway, a great way to say goodbye to the EPL. great game burnley!
