I still don't know why Capello is Englands manager...his stubborness and refusal to change his achaic 4-4-2 system nearly took England to the dust...England has always had the squad to win competitions all they've always needed is the right formation and tactic which was used today. With this new 4-3-3 system there will be great squad dept and enough players for each position...Euro 2012 here we come!!!

Sadly..a team like portugal in the tournament. I don't think any one can go against them not even my spain :/
that second GOAL was orgasm to my eyes. what precision and the finishing shot was nothing short of WINNING!
England just have that bit more quality. T problem for Wales is that nothing promising is coming though t ranks except for bale who is quality. For England lack team chemistry and t main reason for that is t enormous egos of most of their players. They have a bunch of promising individuals and if they play as a team something good can come out of it. It's t chemistry that counts in t end and Spain r the best example to emulate.
Sort out that grammar mate.

Yup, RUtube is shite. But Dailymotion's OK... try that one
oh great its in gibberish wtf?
personally... i can't take this game too serious.. wales were missing Bale and for me, (once again... PERSONALLY) that's a goal scoring machine for them for the next 8 to 12 years and missing him will cause problems.. but Wales do have a lot of young guys coming through the rankings, so I hope they can do better once everyone is healthy. Would love to see a rematch of these two again.

are u serious, do you think wales would have played better with bale, ,football is a team game not a one man show
no s**t.. did arsenal do good without Van Pers? not really.. (once again... PERSONALLY!!!!!!!!!!)
Congrats to England for having to beat a team who are the lowest in the table.

Why dont try taking on countries such as Holland , Germany, Ukraine or Algeria at least ? I'll see you do the talking on the pitch then.

Why dont England get their our country man to run the show ?

EPL is a foreign league.

End of.
Well, we can't face Germany, Holland etc because of how fifa seedings place teams in groups. We can only play who we are drawn against. A very professional job, missing a few players too. Yes, Wales are ranked very low, but this match was a potential banana skin due to a fierce rivalry between the two nations. You obviously have a very negative attitude towards the English, so I have a little bit of extra reading for you. And if you want to talk about foreign players, Messi is from Argentina, Ronaldo is from Portugal. Without those two players, La Liga would be ranked below the Bundesliga.

Yeah i have to agree with gcopley here. If you look at the players who are performing in la liga the majority of them are also foreign, for example benzema, rossi, aguero and ofc messi and ronaldo. Every league has foreign superstars in it, its the way football is nowadays so saying that our league is "foreign" doesnt really merit much.
Let's also consider the nature of his comment. It sounds to me like you're bashing and criticizing an entire nation because they beat Wales. This is fairly derogatory towards Wales, indirectly of course, but what's most interesting is exactly what Gcopley replied to; are you actually asking why England doesn't take on other counties?

If nations got to just choose who they would play against, do you think they would actually retain the interest of winning if they were to challenge the best national squads in the world? If they didn't, does that mean ANYTHING?

EPL is a foreign league..we can continue to pretend that football isn't a world sport and that clubs don't look beyond their own domestic opponents to transfer players. That'd be quite boring to watch IMO. Uh oh, this year Rooney's on Chelsea, lets see how he does there! Oh looks like Drogba has completed a transfer to a League 2 side, let's see how that pans out!...no thanks.

Note: England does get their own countrymen to run the show, that's actually the point [and rule..?] of international matches; of national squads. You don't see Messi playing for Spain because he plays IN Spain, do you?
well i mean if messi really wanted to play for spain he could. Although thiago motta was born in brazil played for the italian national team.
But i mean that would defeat the whole purpose of an international team. Even though messi would like to play with the spanish international team (and they would be likely unstoppable) he grew up in argentina and its his home despite where he plays.
Not to mention that it would be a HUGE slap to the face to the argentines
Well exactly, he has some national pride. Which unfortunately is somewhat lackluster in todays game. I seem to remember a Spanish team in La Liga last year that would only play Argentinians. Can't remember the name but hopefully someone can clear it up for me. OP there are many foreigners in your league and like our league it is mainly the foreigners that make it so great. Maybe you should pull your head out of your arse and enlighten yourself?
omg catalunja u are so genius??
why dont u just apply a job in fifa and organize the friendly games so that england can play against nauru, tuala and maldives..
Why do you guys even bother responding to an idiot?
Nothing better to do at the present time other than to teach the uneducated minds I guess? :)
Good game! Wish to see more of this during the EURO!
That's The way England to play !!!

2nd goal was brilliant, great run by Young, great pass from glen johnson, and great finish by Bent. Ashley Young looked good this game, hope Man U can sign him, I think he would do good there...

Note to people that think we are over reacting:

Unfortunately as supporters we are obliged to support our national team. Saying 'oh we only beat Wales' or 'that's all good but we'll never win the WC or EC' is hardly 'supporting'. Though you may be encouraging realism you are also discouraging optimism, and no one wins a major tournament without being optimistic. More to the point, no one here is really jumping the gun minus a few posters, the majority are just encouraged by our improved play and Capello finally being diverse with his selection. Please go troll somewhere else, your negativity is not needed nor wanted.
