I recall watching this match and being utterly stunned by the USA's performance in the 1st half. I'm an England fan, but I still wanted to see the US win since it was such a long shot, despite the fact that they are quickly improving and I felt bad for them having come so close only to lose. Nonetheless, it was an AWESOME match and I wish we had more of those in the World Cup.
Viejo...Brasil es el mejor
I remember that game...I was so pissed off to see Howard saving all the shots from the brazilian offense in the first half while Brazil was losing 2 to nothing. Starting the second half i was so delightful to watch the intensity of the match, They kicked me out from my house because i was being so noisy...I won't forget this game for a long time.
great game it waz 4 brazill..dey really deserve 2 alwwayz be champions
This was a fantastic game to watch. I remember watching it and I was really happy for the USA to be leading at the break. But Brazil showed that they are the ebst in the end.
great goal by Donovan. Love me some Dempsey.
great run by US- they just need more depth in the squad
What is up with a small team mentality. Sure the USA hasn't won anything as major as World Cup or Olympics but they keep performing well. We keep calling it upsets but sooner or later we should start expecting the wins from them. I know the guys expect it from themselves to win and so should we and why is Brazil so untouchable. They barely scraped through the Egypt game and they are not going to win the world cup. On another note, I watched the game in the bar with 20-30 Brazilian girls and by the end of it I could not look at any of them as they were jumping around and celebrating.
How is 30 Brazilian girls jumping a bad thing???? I mean, maybe our girls are not your type.
No one that knows football will ever say any team is untouchable, since it involves more than good players to win a match. The thing with Brazil is that the potential to be unbeatable is there because of the quality of the players (can you name any country that would have the depth to sit Pato and players of such caliber through any tournament??) as well as the history of being magical on the field at times. The whole idea behind games like Egypt and South Africa for example, which were the toughest games after the USA final, is that the smaller teams (whether you want or not USA does fall in the category because YES, tradition and trophies are what establishes a country in the sport) they step up against Brazil as if it were the final of the World Cup because it adds a great prestige to beat the ONLY nation which has won 5 World Cups and has been among the best teams in the world at any given time of history. Just for the record, you're right, we might not win the world cup, but that was said about Brazil in literally every one of the World Cups we won... The problem has been when we're expected to win really, so keep up the skepticism and maybe we'll reach six World Cups before anyone (well, Italy) reaches five, like us.
hahah you can so tell Alexi Lalas has been crying, poor guy. I'm proud of what my homeboys did though. Looking forward to hopefully seeing them in the real thing next year.
his excitement in the half-time report was so noticeable that by the time the game ended I was cringing just watching him trying to sound professional on TV... so funny.
the only reaoson usa made it to the final was becasue this ic a small compotition with only 8 countries
yeah, the 8 teams who qualified for it. some of the best teams in the world. get a clue, kid.
that entire play reminded me of Ronahldinhos Barca and the glory days...
Disagree man, we got a lot of work to do, we're way too defensive.
brasil are a superb football team. just their passion for the game is amazing. all the best to them. they`ll kick in 2010 south africa so england will have to beat them lol.
at first, i thought U.S. was gonna win but then Brazil started to play their game and then i knew it wasn't over yet. I like U.S. cause i enjoy seeing them improve but i love brazil too because they play the game the way it should be played. They style in which they win is more important to them that just winning.
well it's like this in brazil, we don't want them to just win, we want them to win with style and flair, otherwise we feel like they're not playing to their full potential and the victory wasn't satisfying. haha we're the worse man, i feel bad for our national team and the ones with the curse to coach them haha
New rankings as of today:
Brazil: 1 (up 4)
USA: 12 (up 2)
fifa rankings are bullshit anyway (i understand it, but still don't fully agree with them) but i'm glad to see we re-claimed our true place. We have 5 world cups, 3 finals in the last 4 world cups which we won 2 of them, we won 4 copa americas out of the last 5... i feel like spain and any other country would have to do a lot more than have a phenomenal week or year to catch up to brazil's level, even in our worse day.
Brazil just too good
