how dare people say france played rubbish? they had more posession, more shots on target, and came closer to scoring than uruguay ever did. are people still bitching about that henry handball? people need to get rid of bias and accept the fact that france is a good team.

Most people on this forum are bias haters. Saying that France played rubbish is an unmitigated sign of unfounded partiality. France was dull, I give you that, but they dominated Uruguay from A to Z. Both teams were leery of each other and Uruguay showed absolutely nothing, yet most people here see them going through whereas everybody thinks France is going out. France was simply undaring but not garbage. And hate them as you will but don't forget that without the French there will be no world cup. Yes the French invented the world cup as they did all major competitions in Football (Champion's league and so on), aside for the Confederation cup.

I was wondering what was Govou doing on the field for so long.I can't believe he started in favour of Malouda.The french coach is crazy.

To all you France haters SHUT THE f**k UP and wait to see how well your own teams will do. Uruguay played tough defense the whole game, and did a good job of it. I'd like to see how England, Italy, or even Spain would have fared against this defensive wall. Even though they did not break the scoreline France was the better team overall.

Henry, you do not have the authority to complain about handball anymore.

Unfortunate that both games ended in a draw, really lacking some excitement, but France created their fair share of opportunities and simply couldn't score. Uruguay had a couple of chances as well, but a similar pattern was seen with them and the Uruguayan team couldn't capitalize either.

In the end, I think that maybe a draw is a fair scoreline.

This match proved that France is as stirred as the Dutch were in 2000, when some of the players left the squad in the middle of tournament.

Some remarks:
Gourcuff played rubbish. Malouda should have played from the very beginning, he seemed to make a difference. Same goes for Gignac replacing Govou (what a miss by Govou by the way). My girlfriend says she's happy that she has dropped Anelka from her squad in favour of Gilardino - I'm not surprised as Anelka has proven that he's a selfish prick preferring to lose the ball while struggling with 2 defenders instead of passing it to a teammate nearby ;) His play looked completely like in last year semifinal Chelsea vs. Barcelona (drawn after Iniesta's goal in the extra time) - slow, crappy and selfish.

Uruguay has some real chances to play in the 2nd stage. This group is gonna be really interesting :)

Mexico is truely better in term of chemistry.
France only play with speed..with ball went missing after attacking.

Bloody Strange Game.. French Were,nt That Much Rubbish As People Voted Them.. But Every One Was Expecting A Good Game From The French Side.. And At Least To Win.. They Have To keep That In Mind.. Now The Competition Is Very High Indeed This Year.. They Cant Be The Finalists Like Last Time.. If They Dont Focus For The Rest Of The Matches..

france was rubbish in front(Anelka and Govou...)but we did play well.Good defense and good passing quality.
