man of the match : NEUER .

The only team that can compete with Spain atm is Germany.
+1
not really, the Spanish team has a slight edge on the starting 11, but the Spanish bench is by far the best in all football right now, plus as good as Thomas Muller is, he probably won't have a starting spot on the Spanish team
+1
He said compete with Spain not dominate Spain.
Also Germany and Spain have different play styles. Mueller wouldn't fit into Spain and Xavi and Iniesta wouldn't really fit into the German team.
+2
come on Lawrence. No offence intended but there is a certain level of arrogance that once reached is extremely annoying.
Imho you need to make sure to not venture past that line. All Dpfka0821 said was "the only team that can compete with spain atm...". The statement allready implies Spain is the #1 force.
You will agree that if spanish fans start posing to even these comments where is this to go? And remember Spain just won their first ever title. Historically you have only just arrived in the big league. However you have done so with style and dominance yes and you are receiving more respect for it than you can ask for. My advice: don't push it, huh?

Xavi and Iniesta can totally fit into the German, for example the 2nd goal Muller scored, Xavi and Iniesta would created and distribute the ball much better on that 4 on 2, I'm not being arrogance, matter of fact, I kinda hate the Spanish team, their playing style just annoys me with all the negative back passes. But all I'm saying the Spanish talent level is above everyone right now. and to be honest I will rate Brazil and Argentina talent over Germany.
btw Lawrence have you missed the Germany vs Argentina 4:0 trashing?
+3
that was just terrible coaching from Maradona, he single handed buried that team world cup hopes

Well I've told you about the line of arrogance not to cross aaaaaaand you don't need to worry about that line anymore.
Also I have just realised you are the first person I have seen on footytube with 0 cool votes v 37 rude votes. Now there are some that don't mind having the role of the asshole, no offence ofc, I actually quite fancy that role myself but THAT is drastic and should have you thinking.

What about Holland?
ahh, what a fanboy...we all know spain is no.1 atm...but as we all can see, u don`t understand anything about football...brazil and argentina...can`t believe u just wrote that...

Well, talented Argentina and Brazil, both got pwned really emphatically by this team in their last match up. The only South-American team that almost beat us was Uruguay (superb team).

And if I recall correctly, Spain managed to beat us with only 1-0 by a header of Puyol in the WC-semis, without Müller on the pitch (who was definitelly a key player in this team and still is).

Spain might be Nr. 1 atm but we are definitelly capable of beating them... and I am confident that this will happen on the next match-up.

*edit: Yes Holland is a strong contender as well. And if I alco recall correctly, the final of WC10 between Holland and Spain was a pretty tight match as well.

top 4 are spain, then germany, holland, italy, who btw beat spain earlier in august. so yeah. any one of the 4 could beat any of the other 4 on any given day. spain might be number 1 but they can still lose
Freaking Lawrence83 lol. Perfect example of why the intelligent people on this site are rated as rude before any other "characteristic". Read the reply! And reread it if you have to, and if you have nothing better than the OP to say, shut it!
how can you win against the team which has the ball all the time.germany plays combined game which is so fit after when they reach 1-0,so does spain.we have watched the last world cup, they have beat germany by playing with the ball mostly.

the true statement is ''germany is biggest threat for spain''
Turkey actually had a lot of chances but failed to finish..

Would of Liked to See Sahin Go up against his former teammate Gotze..
ye good point. where was Sahin anyway?
Is on his way back after an injury..
Ominous signs for the rest of Europe. Germany are rampant at the moment.
awesome quality :)
thx

well i believe hiddink is really genious,it was obvious that possession of germany will double against turkey because, they are second national team in the world after spain.however he really locked the game in the first half,by putting 3 left backs (gonul, sabri and hamit) on the side of lahm and poldi.and they are tried to have a possession on müllers side which was really weak.

we locked the game in the first half and then we missed 2 opportunities which would definetaly change the game.and they found a first goal by neuer who has send a perfect ball to müller that caused counter attack, and they got the score advantage which is never losing after that getting advg. for german team for a long time.

i think we deserve to go to qualifications of europian cup,i hope germany will continue to beating...
great game by germany. ive gotta say gomez is an absolute killer
No offence, but I don't really get the spirit of the Turkish fans. Being totally enthusiastic in the early stages of the game screaming, whistling, cheering. But in the end when it was clear they lost, a big part of the fans already left. To me that looks like they turn their back on the team. Why not rather cheering their players up after the game, like "c'mon you're gonna win the next one"? They can still make it!
People are not satisfied with the team and the coach. That's all. We had some really shitty results in the group and now we are in danger not play in play-offs. We shouldn't have been in this position. Our football mentality is going down. That's the truth. Even the Turkish commentator was so pissed off in the last 5 min of the game and he said this is not our team. In the end, he said he's taking the microphone and headphone off to kinda protest. After Euro 2008, we should have had some improvements. People can't handle being out of the competition again after WC 2010.
I think this is the reason :)

True but Belgium is playing against Germany and Turkey is playing against their "brothers" who have lost already. You'll qualify for the play offs !
Good observation but there are a couple of things you need to know:

1. This as not the only case in which the fans left the Turk Telekom Arena some 10 minutes ago before the final whistle. This happens also frequently in Galatasaray (the host of the Arena) games, too.

2. The main reason is that the Arena is still technically under construction. It just opened in January 2011 and there are a bunch of problems about the Arena awaiting to be handled by the Turkish authorities.

3. The biggest problem is that right now there is just only one option to access to the Arena and come back to your place - that is the subway (parking is also quite restricted because the roads around the Arena haven't been finished yet; only the cars with special permit are allowed for parking in the Arena. Also, the stadium is relatively outside the city and leaving on foot is not a nice option)

4. So, technically some 35-40 thousand people are assumed to use the subway in half an hour or so (the stadium's capacity is 52 thousand), which at times creates not so nice pictures at the end of each game played at the Arena. Let me help your imagination: A horrible crowd of thousand and thousand people basically flow to the one entrance of the subway. SO far there hasn't been any big problem like a loss of life but no one here would get surprised if such an incident occurs soon.

5. That is why in many games people opt to leave earlier than the end of the game; because it may be the wisest option if the game is already decided and/or if it ends at a very late hour of the night.

6. Rather than complaining that fans left earlier, anyone familiar with the problems of the Arena should be thanking that they actually came there in the first place. Believe me; this is the case!

Sounds like a pretty sad situation for the fans. I hope the authorities can improve the situation as soon as possible, Istanbul itself is an amazing city anyway.

The problem with Germany is that they always look strong but haven't delivered in the past few competitions (Last World Cup and last 2 Euros). Lets hope they shed the demons and actually win something !!
I actually think Germans did not "look" that strong during the last WC, but they delivered (only lost against Spain, correct me if im wrong).and I think 2nd place is a pretty good delivery in Euro (unless you think Spain didn't deserve the win of course).
+5
Well, they both were one of the most entertaining teams and did good. Saying that Germany doesn't deliver just because they don't win the world cup and the Euro every 4 years doesn't make much sense...
Serbia also won against Germany with Klose being sent off the field. That was a pretty bad game. Another close one was Germany-Ghana 1:0 with a very inconsistent defence and a brilliant Özil striking a amazing goal.
Still, germany delivered in my opinion. 2006 they were most fun to watch, second in EC 2008, and best team (in my opinion) in 2010 apart from that game against Spain. Ghana was a tough team to beat as they needed the victory whereas germany wasn't even sure they wanted to win because that could mean England in the next game, and the Serbia game was just not to be taken seriously. The worst ref in the history of soccer.
@Piggedy, in fact Germany HAD to win that game against Ghana. A draw or a loss against Ghana meant elimination.
v serbia germany played really aggresive with a man down. It took a red card, two open posts and a missed pk for germany to lose that game. they showed good character as a new look team, and then ozil goal v ghana wasn't insane, it was just enough. against england, arg and uruguay germany showed they're full quality.
Great replay from daily motion! Germany is so strong right now. Gomez was able to just throw off his defenders. I think Turkey is great, but Germany plays a unique type of football. The play well as a team, but individuals aren't afraid to take advantage of an opportunity. Great individual goal from Gomez! and a great team goal for Muller's!
+1
muller was the best strike of louis van gaal ;)
louis van gaal? Jupp Heynckes?
+1
Luis van gaal was the one who discovered him
it's not like he was hiding. He was in Bayern II. anybody who coached Bayern would've discovered him.
coach gerland discovered him in the second team. and müller scored tons of fantastic goals, even Chuck Norris would have discovered him ;-)
+2
What people like to forget in their Van Gaal hatred is that Hoeneß wanted to sell both Müller & Badstuber to Hoffenheim right before Van Gaal arrived so people should give the Dutchmen credit for his achievements and not falsify the past.
+1
i didnt know that. Are you sure Bayern wanted to sell them? Not on loan? Because its untypical. Bayern usually does it on loan, like with Alaba, Kroos etc.
