Great game from both sides, Newcastle really impressing me. Spurs are looking like a team they never used to; great keeper, great defense and midfield and poor attack! Remember when there was berba, defoe, keane and pav? Just need one world class striker in the summer and then i'd say we are at the champions league level.
Is it me or Spurs are becoming a one-man team? I mean of course Spurs benefit from being a one-man team, which is absolutely understandable, but at the same time this turns into a dependence on one player in Bale. I really enjoy watching him at Spurs but I think that Spurs need to acquire the services of another top class player like Bale to ensure that they keep competing against top clubs.
Just because Bale's scoring doesn't mean Spurs are a one man team. Their defence did a remarkable job as did Lloris in goal and they arguably have the strongest midfield in the league when fully fit. It's a team effort that they've come this far, Bale just happens to be the stand out player in a very talented team.

They already clearly have enough quality to challenge the top four for years to come. Another clinical striker is the only missing element.

Earlier this season, I said Bale could be the best player in the league and now I'm saying Bale is the best player in the league for sure. The pace, the strength, the technique, he's like a Christiano Ronaldo, he's almost unplayable, he cant be stopped. When United played Tottenham, Ferguson had to play both Phil Jones and Raphael to contain Bale n still he had some shots on target, the man is a BEAST.

Bale with 2 good finishes to help the Spurs win, Newcastle just can't explain, always could be winning games but still not the same for them without Ba even with the new signings.
Since Newcastle signed the new players and Cabaye returned from injury they've played Villa (away), Chelsea and Spurs, and picked up 6 points.

That's pretty good, isn't it?
Who needs another striker when you've got a player like Bale. Outstanding.

Steven Taylor led the Newcastle tributes to their tormentor. He said: “For me, Gareth Bale is a world beater. He is the complete player. It is like playing Ronaldo. He is one of a kind – he is like Cristiano Ronaldo.

“He’s one of those who can produce that bit of magic. You have to be on your toes all the time and just pray to God that he doesn’t score.”

Everyone says that without Bale, Tottenham are s**t...Same was said last year but with Modric and Van Der Vaart......They're now gone though? Need I say more?

I think without him their s**t, but he takes them to the next level certainly
I wish people could just enjoy watching Bale play insteading of criticising all the time. Yes he looks like he's imitating Ronaldo because he's openly come out and said that:

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1322181/gareth-bale-hopes-to-emulate-cristiano-ronaldo?cc=5739

And what's wrong with that? Ronaldo's probably the best player in the world right now. He's also 28 and Bale's only 23. I remember a time watching Ronaldo at United when everyone mocked him as he was selfish and gave the ball away too much.

Don't mistake confidence and a bit of trial and error as a flaw.

Wherever Bale goes next he'll always be a Spurs legend and I won't blame him for going. He's given everything and we've given him the time and space to develop his game.

Yes he's carrying the team at the moment but you could look at any team and say they'd be in trouble without a certain player if they didn't have them each week. Man Utd > RVP, Chelsea > Mata, Liverpool > Suárez.

Bale's just in the limelight at the moment as he's homegrown but none stop, childish abuse and poor media reporting will just destroy any talent like his that may ever come out of our country before it's even had a chance to shine.

well said mate,, everyone aspires to play like one of the greats,,,
u right in almost anything but xtANO is not near the best player in the world, that belong to Messi, I think even Iniesta is a better player than him, but Bale is a very skillful player for sure.
Jepc92003, you sounded so "unbiased" towards Cristiano Ronaldo and I don't get why though. ))

In the past two or three games perhaps but overall? Probably not.

what a machine... those saying he is trying to imitate ronaldo, no. Ronaldo would never work back to win a ball as hard as bale does.
