Rio is a better player and Terry is a better captain. They both have their downfalls; Rio is injured quite a lot and Terry is a w****r and slower than Heskey.
Why should we have to settle for the lesser of the two evils? Gerrard is a more important player than either of these two and has proven with Liverpool that he can lead a team.

I'm sorry but saying you're "not everyone's cup of tea" is just stupid. It's like a musician introducing a song by saying "I wrote this next song... it's not very good..." It doesn't really inspire us with confidence.

I can't believe Lampard is going to lose his place and possibly retire from international football yet this guy has just been given back the armband.

Have you seen lampard in the past few months? For england he hasent been playing a fraction of how he plays with chelsea, and I say this as a chelsea fan.

Terry is one of the worlds best CB while RF is good, I'd prefer JT, and who cares if he is slower than heskey, he is a cb.

Was'nt it his mistakes that contributed to England's defeats in the world cup? Is it not patronizing to your team mates to say 'I wanted to win the w.c', as if they didnt?..' Only captain because Rio has the calf injury now.

Never liked Rio as captain to be honest. Terry is a better England captain. If we are debating who's the better person then, well.....
In any case, England is the only country that makes such a fuss over the captaincy. This shouldn't be that big of a deal....

I Find Terry more suitible for captain, not really sure why but he gives off a feeling of control over the team, just like gerrard with liverpool. Rio is great to but i dont find him a person who would be a captain for a national team like england.
