Good game by Sporting. It was unfortunate that they conceded that penalty at the end of the game but hey its the first goal they have suffered at home since Sa Pinto became the coach. The first half was slow but I think that was because both team were worried about committing a mistake (Sporting played with a low block and Metlist not creating many of those rapid attacks). Second half Metalist started to be more adventures up front which actually created some space where there wasn't any before. Meaning that an individual mistake (like the one Villagra made) would create a lot of space down the wing and that is something you don't want to do when a left back like Inusa is there. I think it will be hard but if Sporting play like the did at the beginning of the second half they can do it and I hope they do.

great game by sporting had the pleasure to see the whole game and i think that sporting can go to the Ukraine and win the game there. the second half was great and it kept me concentrated on the game insua is a great left back second best in portugal in my opinion and the goal is showin everyone why. great job sporting i hope u guys take it all the way to the final

In Ucrania we must enter in the 1st minute like we did in the 2nd half: speed over the ball, strong pace, aiming for the goal. Metalist is strong and Sporting must be stronger!!

What a powerful free kick!

The first half was really balanced and not very exciting. Both teams were probably studying each other, meaning that there were no real chances.
In the second half we started really well, high pressure, great passing, nice player movements and the 2 - 0 advantage was more than justified. Now, Metalist have shown today that, although their defenders have some problems when it comes to passing and to initiate an attack, their offense is pretty menacing, really fast paced. Patrício made two good saves, but despite Metalist's pace, we were under control and even managed a couple of dangerous counter attacks. So the penalty (a clear foul, no question) came a bit out of the blue for the Ukranians, thus spoiling a really good second half performance from us.
I would like state that I don't get why Gueye (Metalist's CB)wasn't sent off...some 8 or 9 fouls just by him, and he only got the first yellow at the 59th minute...Incredible.

The second leg will be tough, but I hope we can go through!
