I still think that Liverpool really deserved to win. C'mon, they ruled the game and MU just got lucky w/ Chicarito's Majestic Heading.

A draw at home for pool...what????? My word. i fail to see how this team of yours has improved .At anfield with your strongest team against a weak ManUTD and you guys draw. Imagine if Fergie had put his strongest from the start, you guys would be moping another 4 - 0 defeat this time at home. Fergie did you a favor and say thank you liverfools. He said, if i field my strong team, i win but i already know if Pool beat us anyway, we will win the league. So What is the point???? However, if i field a weak team, i can keep my best players fresh for the CL and see what happens. Anyway, good luck in finishing in the top 10 this year with the likes of Caroll and Henderson. If not for Suarez, nobody would be watching your overrated team. Stevie G is getting old and you can see that...passed his prime. He scored but is far from captain fantastic.

your talking through your arse...fergie's team selection was a defensive team..technically he's cautious and wants to contain liverpool, especially suarez's movements...if you watch d highlights properly liverpool are more likely to score and fergie's tactics nearlly backfired on him..tnx to 'Green Peas and Dunkin Doughnuts' they managed to get away with a draw...And stevie's age got nothing to do with his performance..he's actually the MOTM..would u say the same for 4 giggs, hard 4 me to say but he played well...HEY if you can read a brochure with your current eye condition..c vision express!!!

trollolololololololololololololol....
a couple of points that people keep bringing up that i'd like to address:
1. united fielded a weaker "second rate" side: The reason i don't get this is mostly out of respect for the talent and depth of manchester's team. welbeck has been instrumental in the start of this season, giggs is a legend whatever he may do in his free time, and park is continuously underrated and under-appreciated. Ashley young's record speaks for itself.

SAF has a history of fielding defensive sides at anfield with last year as an exception (rooney nani berbs starting, chicharito on at half time). suarez was the catalyst in that game and I think the defensive side was meant to contain him and it did for the most part.

2. United was lucky: I think I even stated this at one point but i'm going to retract it because of two things. First: De Gea. nuff said. Second, Chicharito came on fresh after about 80 minutes and skrtel was marking him. we can obviously figure out why he was able to slip away from a CB so easily, well played chich/SAF.

3. Stevie G was lucky: This sort of goes both ways because he was definitely trying to go over not thru the wall. I would like to add this, if you watch the replay, Giggs is already standing a little ways away creating a smaller gap. If I was taking a free kick i'd aim in between that gap (while still going over the wall) that way, if they jump its much harder to block. (sorta hard to explain without visuals i guess but trust me it makes sense!). all in all, luck had very little to do with this game from either side.

4. "United have bigger fish to fry:" this is just ridiculous. while we may not be the most talented team united will face all year, I HIGHLY doubt Ferguson was playing for the draw here, despite playing defensively. imho, he will not love the idea of falling into second place behind the blue side of manchester... correct me if i'm wrong, but being second to city is not something united enjoys.
I agree that champions league is a larger stage, but don't try to tell me that ferguson just willingly dropped to second place in the premier league table. he wants every 3 points he can get because he wants 20 titles. Also, don't demean our great rivalry, that's just no fun. You don't just nonchalantly drop 2 points, especially to a historical rival.

5. Adam dived: No, he really didn't, and I don't even think he went down too softly. if you're running at full pace concentrating on the ball (especially if you're not a worldclass dribbler) and someone clips your heel or catches a bootlace you're gonna go down.

6. Just to reiterate: De Gea is a beast. hang on to that lad.

cheers!

It's amazing how the referees just love Man Utd... I mean, yeah sometimes it happens that the referee dont get everything right, but it still seems as though it's always United who gets the advantage from the referees
+3
Always them!!!
yeah i can see how much this ref loved us by giving liverpool a free kick that shouldn't have ever been...
+4
Hahaha good joke Hpharmail! Also blame the ref loosing to us 2:8 hahaha!

LOVEYELI???? Your referring to ManU as "US" and your team is "CD CHIVAS DE GUADALAJARA" Are you like one of those Barce fans who support both Argentina and Spain in World Cup so if one goes out they have a second chance???
+1
lol no way..

I've been a chivas fan since i can remember..my mother's family is from Guadalajara Mexico and chivas are basically a religion there. they're my first love when it comes to footie. I got into Man united around 2006 so im kinda a new fan in a sense. what Am i not supposed to like other teams or something? i see people on footytube with like 10 different teams and some of them even play in the same league..

and no i h8 spain and argentina..the only National team i support is Mexico and i guess the US since it's my national duty~

suarez is a devil
+2
*devilishly tricky :P
in other words: unfair. remember his deliberate handball at the WC 2010? I wouldn't want him in my team...
and he bit someone's ear... lad.
Man United's Mr Dunkin Doughnut saved them...good goal by stevie!!
any united fans remember that 4-1 thrashing at old trafford?
hows europa league...oh wait, nvm. GO RANGERSSSS
i remember, but what did you win? ye thats right nothing. whos in europe? ye thats right not you but birmingham lol
the rangers match was a friendly not a Europa league match...

I tell all the Liverpool fans in the pubs "you may win the battle but you lost the war" straight to their face!
+2
aren't you just a brave little warrior jiztroublez
+1
There many utd fans knockin about in New York? or pubs for that matter?
LFC fans, remember that 4-0 thrashing to SPurs, which was barely a month ago..epic.hahahahahaha
yeh, i was there.
Trololololololol. Loads of ManUtd and Liverpool fans debating over each other. Me? I think Liverpool were unlucky and ManUtd didn't really put full force. I conclude this match as a good one. Both team didn't really play their best but still entertaining. Cmon, be civilize and just enjoy football itself! Liverpool and United! :D
+2
football without debate sucks mate :)
anyway good advice there. debate is okay, but don't forget stay civil.
+1
jonathangun liverpool did play at their very best and it proved to be only mediocre loooooool

B team?

haha ok whatever... that united team was still good, or nearly a complete team.. so still it was a full united team, in my eyes.. and Liverpool actually battered united up in possession and everything, just unlucky not to score..

you united fans always can't take things my goodness...

Untied were nothing that day..they were absolutely nothing!
And lucky!
52% possession, 5 more attempts on target, 1 less off-target and 5 more corners.

Well, yes on paper that looks like Liverpool steam-rolled didn't they?

A mark of a champion is to play badly and still get a point. To say liverpool DOMINATED is ridiculous, I think Fergie was happy with a draw away from home considering we have a champions league match and a manchester derbie in the next 7 days.

A liverpool team without Suarez wouldn't be the attacking force it is, a United team without Rooney, Hernandez and Nani cannot be blamed for not having more chances.
*56% // 44%
shots(on goal) *15(5) // 11(2)
corners 8 // 3
@liverpoolfc29

"haha...ok watever. That united team was good, or nearly complete."

The fact that you (our bitter rivals) acknowledge the weaker version of our team to be good shows you the depth we have on the bench. Either that...or you wish you were playing the A United side because that would be a blow to your egos to think otherwise.
+1
juztroublez@ i dont know how this is true but jus because rooney, nani and vidic dint start or dint play that makes you a B side lackin 3 players who alwayz start doesnt make up a B side so this bull crap about so n so were not there is sickenin maybe Fergie did that so if he could have lost that would have been his point 'we lost coz that wasnt our A team' n for heavens sake that wasnt pools fault that they dint start
Freakytah - Ahh you stepped into my trap. You said it wasnt Liverpool's fault our three most dangerous players didn't start. Just like it's not our fault your players couldn't finish. But Liverpool fans say they're unlucky they didt score. I can say the same. I can say United were unlucky Rooney, Nani and Chacarito were not available for the entire 90 minute.
they were available... they were on the bench. bad management?
+1
Not going to knock United, fantastic team that has had a great start this season. But c'mon, Liverpool outplayed them on Saturday. Just watch the last 10 minutes of the game and thank De Gea that Liverpool didn't take all three points.
+1
r u stupid?... yes u r stupid cuz if u watched the game ud have seen that fergie didnt start rooney, hernandez or nani till 70 minutes in the game. once those players came on the field they got the tie with the hernandez goal
lasadaii u'r saying that de gea saved us as if de gea is not part of the team or a regular football game. as if dea gea is this weapon or a tool that united use to cheat in order to win/not lose.
unless you have better arguments as to why you guys didn't snatch a win (here's a good one: loserpool suck) then don't come on here and post ur insipid b.s.
just cuz u said united are a fantastic team that doesn't excuse you from making stupid claims
+1
Blayal, Utd were on the back foot for the last 15 mins even with their big guns on, if De Gea wasn't on form then they would have lost. Before you start babbling shite at me Petronie its a compliment to the keeper.

insipid was an unfortunate word to use considering the incoherent little tantrum you just had.
+1
@Gommy4

United were in the back foot for the last 15 minutes...I agree. And what makes you think you wouldve kept out Rooney Hernandez and Nani if they played a full 90 minute? They came on for 2 minutes and scored.

It's all about, ifs, could be, would be, should be...get over it. It's a draw
+1
isn't coming onto a thread discussing a match and then telling people to stop discussing the match a bit pointless?

That goal was down to poor defending not added ability.
Gommey4 - Poor defending? Dude have you played as a striker before? Do you think it's easy to score when you have a defender 4 inches taller than you with his arms around your chest and neck? If you watch the replay carefully, Chicarito pulls back to the far post but as the ball comes in, he ANTICIPATES (key word) the trajectory of the ball. Then he uses speed, strength and skill to break free from his marker to get into a favorable position before anybody does. I admit, it wasn't a flick on by Welbeck. It was a miss header. But like I said before, Chicarito's anticipation pays off to clean up the ball that came through. Takes massive skill mate. In basketball, why do you think some players have more rebounds than others? Cos they ANTICIPATE. That's a skill all in itself.

well if welbeck's header was misplaced and changed the trajectory of the corner then surely hernandez's ANTICIPATION (key word) [sarcasm] was more luck than judgement. Also yeh i do play centre forward and if i was ever marked by skrtel i would s**t my pants with excitement he was nowhere near his man and never is... poor defending. besides skrtel any decent defender should have attacked the ball at the front post welbeck should never have been allowed to get to it in the first place.
Fergie knew by putting a defensive side they would get something but if they try to attack they would b torn apart thats why liverpool always struggles with the likes of stoke, wolves and the rest but can have a big chance of winning against attacking sides..so if Fergie had tried to match up with the likes of rooney, nani n hernadez they game would have easily been won by pool..no matter what u say u know am right
+3
bigger fish to fry, our CL matches have been poor, i think fergie was clearly aiming for a point.

i did wish that he had put out our first team against lfc... im still big on the romance of our rivalry.

i still think the freekick was a lucky break for an otherwise blunt lfc team.
+2
To Freakytah - You do realise when liverpool won 3-1 last year it was with Evans and Smalling in cb and Carrager lucky to still be on the pitch with more than 60 minutes to go?

A United team with cleverly, anderson, young and nani are more than a match for any liverpool starting midfield. Torn apart... which is why Liverpool got crushed against Spurs and United are still undefeated?

Deluded 'pool fans as usual, only in the summer they thought they would have a go at the title..
+1
i think for that game we had agger and johnson out too..?
Freakytah - you act like this season your defense is as solid as a rock. You say if Fergie plays attacking football, we could be left open in the back. True. But what makes you think with all the attacking flair we've had this season your defense wouldve been able to keep us out? If I can recall, isn't our goal difference ratio better than yours?
LOL! liverpool struggled with a mediocre united first team, GLORY GLORY!
+1
umad?
struggled

yeah...
+3
lol nah seriously good game but all i have to say is CHAMP19NS
19 forever? ='0
why do you keep calling your team mediocre? i feel like i have more respect for the united team than united fans.. jones ferdinand smalling giggs young park fletcher welbeck are not mediocre.. and de gea speaks for himself (man of the match). it is true that rooney chich and nani are excellent players but that hardly makes the rest of your team mediocre..
+1
Honestabe...I believe what they are saying is...most of them were not United's first choice starters. When you say the names Rooney, Chica, Vidic and Nani, all four of them are easily the creme of the crop against any player that played on Saturday in their respective positions.
good game
