young guns as always, need experienced defender
Good game by the gunners...I'm surprised at the size of our new players! I hope the guys are starting to blend and discover how each other plays so that we can have a good new season :) Let's hope the boys are ready to face the big boys at the Emirates in a few days...
I`ve got the weekend off...no work...a footie-fest instead. Can`t wait,it will be great to see how our boys perform against better opposition. I`m really looking forward to seeing Chamakh on a bigger screen TV instead of the hazy images on the computer.Come on you Gunners. I bet my lucky bro has got tickets!
I'm hoping Wilshire is gonna make his name this season... he's definitely an amazing talent. i'm a bit nervous about this squad but for some strange reason I think its the only squad in the last 4 yrs that has the highest potential, highest energy capacity and highest team chemistry.

damn i hope i'm right! lol
Man o Man I hope you are right too! Agreed on the potential, speed and team chemistry, they just have to stay fit. and sign another defender....and a new keeper that will command the defense( eg. Akinfeev). But other than those small details, I am extremely excited to see the team play well and really hope they can find that cutting edge and a bit of never-give up-tenacious-winning mentality they have been lacking in big games.
str8 up! They definitely need a good defender and Akinfeev is a great option... those details might not be as small as they seem. It would be a good upgrade for the squad and that hopefully can add to the energy, or the artillery
Agreed, and I really think Wilshere is going to surpass the expectations and become one of the top players for Arsenal in the future. He has great vision and a wonderful range of passing and he should be a shining example for some of the players that are lacking in commitment at times.
Jack Wilshere looks like he's a real player, Nasri is having the best possible pre season, all Arsenal need now is decent goalie and they WILL mount a serious title challenge.
a good goalie along with a good defender like Jagielka... then i'd b satisfied
make that 2 defenders at least seaing as we have brought in only one and we have now lost 4 Senderos, gallas, Silvest and now Cambell

for certain we need 2 if not 3.
Despite winning this game 4-0, I'm expecting more from Arsenal since the majority of its stars played and the oppenent is not a big team.
Mannone is such a good goalie, he is better than Fabianski IMO, hope he will get more chances in the EPL this year.
You got to improve your game or we're just destroy you in you Epl opening match. Good luck
you should lower your expectations of Liverpool for this season...
INDEED!!!
I hope that Manonne sees more playing time this year as well!

I've said it before. I think people forget what a great job he did for us last season when Almunia & Fabianski where out. He kept us in the runnings!!!
mos def! Manonne is a very big talent for this squad. He's also much better than Fabianski. I just dont see any comparison... he's more like my 5th choice
Didn`t know that Mannone saved a penalty!
yup, he's been going good and talking big too... hope he does well with his chances
vito is proving ones again why he should be no.1 not these other embarrasments
Wilshere is an exceptional talent. Nasri is further asserting himself in that CM spot. Cesc is one of the world's best but he is not irreplaceable.
Nasri... IS FREEKIN BLINDIN in the pre season sh*t... cant wait to see him in the Emirates Cup... He is at the playmaking control hub for every attacking move nearly!! And i also see... hese been working on his spotkicks aswell... As they said not going to the WC has kept him fresh and up for anything!!!
Lovin' Nasri, especially lovin' this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XFEx01gqhw&feature=related
wenger's stubborness to sell fabs (even for so much money) shows that he wrongly thinks fab is bigger than the club.
plus, fab is an injury prone especially in such a physical league like EPL.. i'm sure he will get injured again and he won't play for long time again, so in the end it may be useless to keep him, especially knowing the boy doesn't have a heart in arsenal anymore.. why force someone to play for you when you know deep inside he doesn't want to?? and we could use the money we get from selling him in buying better quality defenders, which is precisely arsenal's weak spot
Just get rid of Fabregas and let Nasri be the next creative playmaker.. he's been more than impressive lately..
wrong, Only thing is that wenger doesn´t lose money that easy, thats how he is and since fabregas is his own player he will use him at his best and sell him at his price.
fabregas is arguably the best player at arsenal, so to sell him this close to the start of the season would be bloody stupid and would leave a massive hole in our midfield and we wouldnt have adequate time to buy anyone to replace him. nasri has played well in pre-season and i really like nasri but to expect him to all of a sudden expect him to be the key playmaker for us is a bit much to expect from him at this point in time. and "for so much money"? to accept around £35 mil for one of the best midfielders in the premier league who happens to be only 23 years of age and isnt even in his prime is just stupid. if arsenal want to lose the reputation of being a selling club then we need to stay firm and refuse to offer. i mean its common knowledge that fabregas will return to barcelona and im in no doubt of that but for such a measly price and after blatant tapping up would just be ridiculous. especially when stupid city are throwing around £25 mil for milner who is nowhere near as good as fabregas
I think Fabregas' leadership is huge too...he's not Messi (irreplaceable), but is still so important to Arsenal, needless to say. He can get better too. Would be a big blow if we were to lose him now. Dont forget, these teams are not champions league standard teams so far. Emirates Cup will be a good indication.
This intrest from Barcelona in Fabregas may be a blessing in disguise for Arsenal as it looks like Fabregas has resined himself to one last year at the emirates. And with Fabregas knowing that he has one last shot at glory with the club where he has learnt so much, he will be even more detemined to play the best season of his life (and he has had some good ones), and that might just be enough to land Arsenal the EPL crown and add an extra 10-20 millon on his price tag.
I like ur point Wazza14, the bid that Barca made was ridiculous. Wenger is extremly experienced when it comes to selling and selling Cesc at the price barca wanted would have crippled the entire squad. there's no doubt that Fab will leave and i would love to see him play at Barca as well since he started there, but he has unfinished business at Arsenal which he also knows so who cares about anything else? I dont think there is a player at Arsenal that wants to win trophies as bad as Cesc and V. persie... so it would be very irresponsible of Wenger to let Nasri direct all traffic so early. It's a long season and the entire squad needs to b strong and i think pressuring key players is a remedy for disaster.
good save by mannone,Wilshere Will surely assure arsenal's future is gonna be great and hope to see more from chamakh, emmanuel thomas, beautiful goal..Arshavin..one of the best players in the planet..onli thing is..he nids to be more active..i sometimes think he is lazy in his shots and passes...
would be one of the very best if he had a bigger heart...bit of a sook
i agree... i think he's learning a new aspect to his game at arsenal, as experienced as he is. Arshavin needs to integrate himself more into the squad but i think he knows that. i think he's gonna have a better run this season.
Arsenal should bring more young players into the 1st team squad....they played well this game.
lol at times, i think that arsenal youngster and reserves are better than their first team.
so do I...
this is just pre-season but i can already see the boys flopping again in regular season, hey im a fan but we dont have the players to contest, walcott? haha please dont make me laugh (too much)
Good game arsenal. Nasri is getting better and better, theo's finishing is coming on, he hasnt quite got the chip down to perfection as much as Vela has but all in good time. Please please please Put Wilshere in the 1st team more often Mr Wenger. Hes been ace every friendly :)
