People question Ronaldo because he USUALLY underperforms in big matches. He is a great player, no doubt, but has not shown that he can carry the team on his shoulder at crucial times. He scores hat tricks against middle class or lower class teams, but usually dissapears agains big clubs.

I feel Ronaldo has a bit of a mental block when playing against Barca. I thought the header in the CDR final would have changed that but it didnt. The argument that he underperforms in big matches is old and invalid now, its only Barca that he doesnt like facing.

It means consistency and durability. Big trophies require big teams, not just players. According to wiki Ronaldo has 64 games, 69 goals. How many players in history have started off like so? How many have broken the records he has? Few.
