Stop talking about messi and ronaldo.
They are great players who play differently.
None of them are gods.
Wana talk about a player that has done something for both club and national team and get off the messi and ronaldo debate?
Thank You
R9: club and country. boom.
I like what Bielsa is doing at Bilbaõ. By the end of the year they should be settled into his system well.
f**k la liga come back home Mourinho!

for all u barcelona fans ignorance is bliss go look up your history in football because if it werent for madrid winning 5 cups in a row when barcelona was nowhere to be found not only that madrid was named by the king of spain at the time all i haveto say is men lie women lie but 9 historical dont

Callejon is taking every opportunity to show his worth but I dont see him being in the line-up for a few more years.
heskey
How has Llorente not been picked up by big teams yet?
He is Basque and is content at Bilbao.
I know some of ye might disagree with me, but I thought Real were average.
They made many mistakes in the back and in the midfield, they keep losing possession of the ball and some of the tackles were quite vicious.
Our players were hacking and bullying Bibao's players..for me this game was not nice to watch.
Most of our players turned into a Gravessen.. >_<
We won cos players like Marcelo, Benzema, and few others were working hard.
Why would we disagree? They were probably less than average and were gifted a very weak penalty which changed the game dramatically. Bilbao could have won.
why is everybody talking about messi in a madrid bilbao game?
Tired of comparison of Messi and Ronaldo.
Let's just enjoy the game. Good goal is always a good goal!
i mean Messi's last goal he did like six touches to the ball in a matter of 1.5 sec or so before scoring. WHO DOES THAT THESE DAYS? WHAT DO THEY FEED HIM? LOL

Callejon is doing enough to start, he should be given a chance at a full 90 minutes.

Messi is good. But he doesn't have that magic that Maradona, Pele and Johan Cruyff had. There was something that made them extraordinary, special, unique. Now, you can check the teams I support and Real is there, because I use to love their playing style in the glory days. That doesn't mean that I believe that Cristiano should be awarded the Ballon d'Or but then again neither should Messi. He IS good, just not great. Maybe its just futbol that has changed over the years. Maybe it was the past which had an extraordinary, special and unique beauty and the players just drowned in it. Look at the playing style of the three named above in youtube, it almost brings you to tears! I look at Messi's goals, Cristiano's goals and say "Wow", the same "Wow" I use for my 13-year-old brothers school team. Ok, harsh comparison but todays money-hungry environment is killing futbol all over the world. There was a beauty to futbol in the past. A beauty that one felt, not just saw. Now I see.... but feel almost nothing. *I'm not trying to hate on Messi, as I stated, he is a very good player* Hopefully you can relate with what I've noticed, arrivederci.

The f**k does this have to do with the Real-Athletic game?

By the way, 99% of the people will disagree with you, including me, probably the biggest Cruijff fan on this website. Messi is a football God.
We've all simply gotten used to his spectacular marauding runs, his sizzling snake-like movement with the ball just glued to his feet, his perfectly placed finishes, his awesome through balls timed to perfection and all the rest that makes him so phenomenally good. Every game Messi plays well (and that's 90% of the games, which is the main difference between him and other football greats like Maradona), you can make a highlight reel of the things he does that would make most highlight reels of other great players' entire careers look pathetic.

That said: Cristiano Ronaldo would easily be the best forward today if it wasn't for him playing during the era that will go down as Barcelona's and Messi's. And hopefully also be remembered for the amazing Iniesta-Xavi midfield dominance.

Dude what are you talking about? You were amazed at them running past half-decent defenses? Defenses that had 4 guys chasing the same player? Football has evolved, only the strongest fasted, and most skilled make it. It's a dog eat dog world. Put Maradone or Pele against some of today's most organized, aggressive defenses and let's see you drown in the "beauty". The thing about a player like messi is that he literally plays around with some of the best competition in the world, Maradone or Pele won't be doing none of there fancy dandy flicks in this decade.
Chaosstriker you just made the dumbest comment on FT ever. Its like asking to compare Galileo to our scientists today .However , Maradona played the best football of all time even by todays standards . Watch WC1986 and you will see.

Messi plays great both in club and national side but he has to win the world cup for the critics to shut the f**k up.

@Jackie123

Are you seriously comparing football players to scientist that revolutionised the world? I think you're going A BIT to far on that comparison.

That's like comparing Ludwig Van Beethoven or Gustav Mahler to people like Lady Gaga or lil wayne...

@reventon unless im seriously mistaken, and im usually not, you pretty much just missed her entire point and ended up agreeing with her

LOL, you're comparing footballers and scientists? And you proceed to call ME dumb? ahahahaa
Acoop13 Your sanity is a breath of fresh air among these people. And its funny there is no non-Barca fan arguing for your position ever.
I can't argue with anyone who thinks Messi was good with Argentina and Barca at the same level.
Messi at WC2010 was an utter disaster.Look at his stats!

Roanaldo scored all these goals for Brazil in the WC,a phenomenon in Barca and a superstar for Madrid, and nobody ever has called him "the greatest of all time" ...

PS: Pele won his first World Cup when he was 17, YES the actual world cup not the U-20..lol

Honestly, its embarrassing when people compare Maradona with likes of Messi and Ronaldo. You lot keep talking about organised defences?! Really?! Defence during the Maradona era was a lot more superior with the gremans and italian teams. Perhaps not as physically nimble but, in those days defenders were allowed to murder players like Maradona and two footed rash challenges (never mind a booking) earned players new contracts and not to forget the metal studs which were the norm. They used to play with footballs that felt like kicking bricks and pitches mostly like puddles of mud! Honestly, have any of you even tried a dribble in a puddle with a couple of giants getting paid just to kick the hell out of you?! These days you lot cry for every little touch on a football pitch! Honestly, give it a break and stop embarrassing the current stars. Maradona was the reason why football is a world spectacle. Its like comparing Ali to Mayweather. May I also argue, perhaps it was Maradona who inspired Messi to take up professional football. There wouldn't even be a Messi if it were not for Maradona. Maradona the greatest ever! End of

@reverton and choasstriker, its called an ANALOGY. Look it up, quite useful meathod to make points. She wasn't comparing footballers to scientists, she was making an ANALOGY between the relationship of scientist A and scientist B to the relationship of footballer A and footballer B.

Can't believe I actually took the time to explain how analogies work. God there are dumb people on this site...

Chaosstriker and Reventon should be expelled from the Barca forum, they significantly reduce the average IQ for Barca fans.
