WE OWN EL SARDINERO!
nice assist fabregas!
- I think it was satisfying. The first really convincing away performance since, uhm, MĂĄlaga in January I would say. There's still stuff that slightly bothers me though, on a spoiled-fan level...Tello and Messi both should have put one clear chance away and overall the term "wasteful" did just spring to mind again. Sometimes it's also ok to not come up with a beautiful far-post-bound curler-slash-backspin-chip with the inside of your weaker foot and just SCORE.

- Wohoo, Marca and some of the 'fans' have found something to put us on the same level as the team that should have been confronted with a potentially match-deciding penalty kick in injury time. Yes, FabregĂ s went down easy and the penalty kick was kinda soft. There was also however (as may surprise you) a tug on his shirt, which is (as may surprise you) against the rules and which (as may surprise you) was an unfair and deliberate way of trying to keep him from scoring. And it's not like Racing were on the verge of scoring the equalizer at that point. They had exactly zero shots on target all match if I remember correctly. And I'm signing out here before really getting into the penalty Busquets could have got (no dive although it's Busquets) and the red-cardable foul on Busquets (no dive although it's Busquets) in the first half.
Lionel Messi is the greatest footballer of our time. Cherish every Messi goals you've watched and tell your grandkids about it some day.
+1
angry fans crack me up .barca madrid all out war everytime lol some funny comments..
+2
Barcelona deserved to win, they hit the post a couple of times and were all over the opposition. Nice job by Messi as always.
+3
You tend to write reasonable comments. Also the more critical ones. One up.
Thank you sir. :D
the defender pulled cesc but cesc went down faster then a sack of potatoes.
+2
it was a deserved one and he made the most out of it.....smart cesc!
it was a dive, but he sort of had the right to do so, he had a goal scoring oppurtunity wasted, plus dani alves was brought down in the box as well
Calls are going our way? But only Real Madrid get penalties for free....thats odd
+1
well they have to cover up "calciopoli: edición español" somehow...
+3
Penalties for free? Why are Barca fans so blind, biased, and shameless?

Everything that farcelona won over the past 3 years was followed with a refereeing scandal!
Don't play innocent! just look at the last game against Atletico Madrid and think about how the refs affected the result of the match. Well at least i hope you can think about it. Very few fans of farcelona have cognitive thinking approach developed!
+3
@Janco talking about cognitive thinking could you explain to us how Everything that BARCELONA won over the past 3 years was followed with a refereeing scandal! Everything ???
here's one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyHYOxcKEBM&feature=player_embedded

do i need to speak about the CL semifinal against chelsea, or the semifinal in CL against Madrid last year?
How about the last game of the primera against Villarreal when Pique scored the winning goal in 90+ with his hand?

Just knock it off farca supporters! when you got favors by the refs you claimed it was the world's best football club paying now that you are loosing titles you point the finger at anyone else but you!

I love talking evidence http://fcbhighdef.blogspot.com/2012/02/referees-mistakes-in-favor-of-real.html
enjoy
and regarding specific events and history I would love to state a lot of facts and incidents if you like to continue this conversation. again easy with the plural losing(titles) it is just one and we all know it wasn't totally fair
Wow you guys just hate, hate, hate and never admit to (at least doubtful)refereeing decisions in your favor!
Man even your president admitted to it :) http://www.goal.com/en/news/12/spain/2012/03/09/2956202/former-barcelona-vice-president-alfons-godall-our-good

have fun with your rationalization of refereeing logic! this is getting out of control!
We hate? just check who starts attacking and belittling every thing Barca does and you know who hate who, many people say a lot of bad things about Barca and we rarely reply. I don't rationalize I just state facts and let them speak, and thank you for the vote if it was you, I won't do the same in Barcelona we don't do that
hahahah the rarely reply part really cracked me up! :)i remember one fine they before last year a classico was played that suddenly Pep and his friends started hitting at the refs! The strange part was the game wasn't even played yet! :)ou yes and when the game was played Valdes broke the world record in 100m running to the ref on at least 10 occasions :)Usain Bolt could learn few tings from a goalie!
anyway Rationalization is making excuses! We all DO IT! And its not just in football! here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rationalization_(making_excuses)
what vote?

Janco: If you say things like this - "Everything that farcelona won over the past 3 years was followed with a refereeing scandal!" - nobody is going to take you seriously.

Really? Everything? And then you post links to definition of Rationalization? Rational behavior would be avoiding generalizations of any sort let alone using extreme superlatives like "everything" to describe any issue.

+3
Well titles in CL and Primera were won with (and I see no reason why anyone will disagree) lets say certain controversy issues. You are right I might have been a little harsh with the term everything. Certanly most of the titles is an appropriate term.
Guys, just ignore Janco. He's going to do everything in his wil to make our team seem as bad as his, and who can blame him? I mean I'd be riled up if I was supporting the karate master team but still couldn't destroy the beautiful football that Barcelona weaves with ever so much grace.

there's been some bad refereeing that's helped barca, this definitely hasn't been the case of late and in fact barca's been hurt by a lot of calls or miscalls. barca's been the best football team to be playing for the past few years though. still have their ups and downs. el clasico turns up to be some of the most intense and entertaining football to watch but hopefully madrid can play a little more tactfully and less violently in future games to come. all this fan banter serves no purpose when it comes down to it. this video's funny tho- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGes7FDmHAM

Janco: I take it back. I don't think you can be taken seriously at all because your posts don't make sense. Barcelona has won 14 trophies under Guardiola...FOURTEEN! Most of these trophies were won by beating World Class sides including the great Man Utd and Real Madrid. Barcelona has made these two sides look average at times. That isn't because of the referee but because the Barcelona football philosophy is superior to any style of football being played at any club at the moment.

"Let's say certain controversy issues" Really? What controversial issues? There have been refereeing decisions which have gone Barca's way and some have gone against. It happens with every team. Man Utd gets more injury time when the score is leveled or if Utd is behind at Old Trafford than when they're winning.

The fact is Barcelona was bound to slow down at some point of time after their amazing run of success. Their squad this year is paper thin. Pep's recent 22 man squad listed Fontas and Afellay who are out for the season. Barcelona also play a hectic season competing in 6 trophies. In December after the El Clasico Barca packed up and left for the Club World Clup in Japan. Barca plays a game every 3-4 days. Fatigue is an important factor in a club's success. Fatigued players also tend to get injured more often. Its a miracle how Messi functions at his rate of production.

How can anybody have a rationale discussion with people who ignore what the vice president of their own club said, and keep on talking with their own believes? You possibly cannot. No need to be insecure, nobody said Barcelona is a bad team, therefore you do not need to keep defending and calling it the superior team. It is a very good team, but at the same time, the way you ignore the referee decisions, of the past, that have helped your team makes a very strong case that your team, is skillful, but you guys have no class.

Franky4fingers: Why do you relate packed up schedule with the topic of refereeing controversy?
The league title in Spain and CL on two occasions were won with refereeing controversy! The semifinal against Chelsea and against Madrid last year. Deal with it, or ignor it as in your case mate!
Don't worry guy just keep ignoring what you see and rationalize it in anyway possible so you can convince yourself that Madrid is the football mafia capital and your team is.. whatever you think it is.
This topic is getting out of hand it should continue in some forum not here.

+1
The semifinal against Madrid last year? Only homers like you can think that Madrid had a chance. Parking the bus and beating the crap out of Barcelona players because the team couldn't put together 5 passes in a row and you talk about controversy? That thug Pepe deserves to be banned from football for life. Do you think he got the red card for his tackle on Dani Alves? He was playing like a thug all game. He literally goes out and punches other players and Dani Alves made a big deal out of minor contact. So what? If the ref had cautioned Real Madrid for every bad tackle deserving of a yellow card things wouldn't get that ugly. The overpaid Madrid side realized after the 1st Clasico that playing football vs Barca wouldn't get them anywhere. So they came out kicking and punching and got a draw. A big turn around from a 5-0 thrashing right? Next game, Barca decided to flop everytime someone touched them to get Madrid in foul trouble.

You speak of controversy and you don't find it controversial that a team worth over 500m dollars was playing a boxing match with Barcelona and getting away with it? Shame on you for even coming out to defend Pepe who should be in jail for attacking players not tackling them.

You're the one who is rationalizing bad behavior because homers like you are so desperate to win "any" trophy that they will accept a rugby match. Despicable!

Footycray: As usual you continue you past record of speaking utter nonsense. Whether Barcelona is a good team or not depends on YOUR opinion? Ha that is quite cute. Decisions going Barca's way? Where? The same Chelsea game? Where Barca were reduced to 10 men on a loose call? I don't know about Barca or united fans' class but you have a problem of actually knowing football.
Franky you are a total docuhebag and a complete asshole! You continue to misunderstand and completely twist everything that I have said! You jump from one to another topic and keep muttering nonsense.
Good for you! Babies like you who think that know something about football need a space to cry out their emotional problems.
YES Pepe is tackels hard but like it or not for every Pepe, you have Sergio, Mascherano and Pique! off course you will never admit that because that will mean using your brain for actual reasoning!
Be proud of your team for winding up the ref on that game! For valdes being his shadow for the acting of buscets, pedro, pique and all of you self proclaimed football know it all's! And lets not talk about the second leg! I'm sure you think Higuains disallowed goal was a foul so despicable he should have been court-martialed!
The biggest problem i have with barcelona is not how they play or the fact that refs ARE helping them but the fact that blind and self absorbed fans like drag that team down to the ground. As i said this topic is for a forum not here. Get a life dude!
Franky4fingers: I guess having a completely new side had nothing to do with that 5-0 loss. It was all about the "greatness of the Catalans"? and a Boxing match? Really Dude? Your rant sounds like a little girl crying for candy. Calm down with your insecurities. Just because I am critical of Barcelona, I speak "utter nonsense" and the other guy on this discussion (Janco) makes no sense - says who? says the kid who has his panties in a bunch because his dream team is not all that he thought it to be. And now others are breaking his heart so he wants to go out and try to verbally ridicule them and sway away from the point. Stop using fallacies (but you have to know what they are before you stop using them) I don't want you to go so far as the Chelsea game (you anyways have a way of making thugs look like victims there), just go and see all the games Barcelona played in the last 2 weeks. You will see your boyfriend, Busquets, jump in the penalty box and punch the ball. When you see that, please don't think that players from other teams did something equally worse, so it's okay for him to punch the ball. And please don't tell me that the poor boy had his eyes close and body sandwiched and the other team helped his hand go there and then they forgot to appeal to the referee for a handball. Your mentality is pitiful and your thought pattern is humorous. yeah... shut up already. I'm done responding to a little girl.

Footycray: Your comment, ignored. Wow...Use your time in a better way than spewing garbage here like watching flies f.uck.

Janco: Yes, Pepe tackles hard? haha Did you see him kicking the Getafe player or stamping on Messi's hand or elbowing hundreds of players. FU your soulless p.o.s!

Sergio, Mascherano and Pique? You compare football players with a street goon. Yes, you are a real madrid supporter for real.

No your moron. I'm not blind. In fact I don't agree with the refereeing excuse even though I am aware of the RFEF connection. You're too much of an idiot to understand my "deep" argument. Barca has fallen off pace with Madrid not because Madrid has become a better team than Barca but because Barca is suffering from burnout. This team does not have enough players to play at this level. Pep has had to devise innovative ways to conserve his best talent for important games. So he's had to sport younger players which changed the course of La Liga. What I do not like is when ignorant fools like you who have no understanding of the functioning of football assume that you're a know it all. Your comments which lack any personal insight shows your maturity. Go play FIFA and be a manager!
+1
And Footycray, I'll prove your idiocy and lack of knowledge right now. Here's your comment:

"I guess having a completely new side had nothing to do with that 5-0 loss. It was all about the "greatness of the Catalans"?"

The Madrid side which lost 5-0 consisted of: Casillas, Carvalho, Pepe, Marcelo, Ramos, Xabi, Khedira, Ozil, Ronaldo, Benzema and Di Maria.

The Madrid side which faced Barca one year before that consisted of:

Casilla, Albiol, Pepe, Ramos, Arbeloa, Marcelo, Diarra, Ronaldo, Kaka, Xabi, Higuain.

The ENTIRE team that was present one year before the 5-0 thrashing still exists. The "new" additions were the highly talented Ozil, Di Maria and Khedira. So your assertion that Madrid sported a "new" team is not just stupid but lacks any backing. The thing that was "new" was a new manager - the SPECIAL one who made the mistake of trying to play football with Barcelona instead of hacking them down like thugs.
Wow you supreme knowledge has enlightened me!! I now see that you personal issues and impotency are what's driving you toward kissing the poster of farcelonian players that hangs on your bedroom wall every time you feel the urge to write a comment on this page!
Keep on dreaming that you are right! I have better thing to do with my time than argue with some one that doesn't even want to hear others opinion nor looks objectively toward his team.
I surely hope that you will get a life soon! And stop kissing that poster of Pep on the lips. Its grouse!

haha no substance just drivel! I would like to hear opinions which are based on "facts" not something that you pull out of your ass which stinks and is in fact - s**t!

My opinion is objective and it is evident from the fact that I do not agree with blaming the refs and my explanation about barcelona squad hit with injuries and fatigue. Your opinion is based on NOTHING and is garbage!
Good Highlights

how was that a penalty ???
+1
because Ramos handballed it in the box thats how.
+14
f****n Barca fans!!
+3
When you push someone in the box with your hands or touch the ball with your hands that is PK, these are the rules. and the words you use show your class ^
Do you remember Busquets punching the ball inside the box during a free kick?? It happened less than 10 days ago. Ramos' "hand ball" was not intentional. Busquets' punch was, because his hand came above his shoulder and he punched it away. Barcelona fans should not talk about class. Your players have skills, but no class.
When Busquets "punched" the ball, his eyes were closed. He was sandwiched between 2 players. It was ALSO not intentional.
+1
Here comes Busquets' boyfriend in his defence.
Must be tough not to hate when your team is looking at being kicked out of European competition, huh? You should change your name to just "Crazy" or rather BatshitCray!
Fabregas...brilliant assist. He's a fantastic player but he goes down too easily.
+2
That penalty was too soft............I guess the linesman gave it.
Nice skills by Xavi LOL.

1/10 for the ref.
+1
Can't believe we got a Penalty lol

A good exhibition of a Crouffian 3-4-3.(Not the best-Although alves dropped back once the second goal was scored) Disappointing that not to many goals were scored. But barca held it down and were dangerous all over.

Sad to say that the match was marred by the irregular refereeing. The officiates overlooked some blunt calls in favor of barcelona, (Cesc made the most of the contact that led to the penalty) Its kinda deplorable. Racing did their best to keep their cool but you could see it in their faces that they were frustrated by the bad officiating.

Note worth: Every time Tello is in...Barcelona gains an edge. As if the game becomes more vertical. His pace is incredible.

Good Victory
Flood the midfield!
