make it more zany! less political jokes, not everyone is from England on FT :)
Also, maybe you can recreate the talking points of the weekend's football somehow to comedic effect?
just some thoughts, and I'm no comedian....or am I? :D
I really liked this first episode, I thought it was pretty funny. I agree that it can be improved, but I guess that's the idea of the pilots. There are so many topical football shows out there, so I like the way this is irrelevant and funny. The scethces are a good laugh as well.
The way I see it is that footytube is an awesome five star restaurant where everything is free. All you can eat, all day, every day. However some people will fill up on steak, lobster and fine wine for free and then when you bring the free dessert over, they'll complain loudly and arrogantly that it's not their favourite kind, causing a scene.
If you don't want a dessert, don't eat one. If you don't think there is any potential in a football comedy show (hint: there is) then don't watch it. That is all.
I agree, and TBH I thought this was quite a funny intro for what's to come. My guess is the people who didn't rate this as good comedy at all either loathe silliness or are accustomed to great comedy day in day out. I fall in neither category, as I love seeing a crazy bald nerdy manager desperately trying to get on tele and I'm accustomed to a level of comedy on TV that involves comedians whose idol is Jay Leno.
Hey Netnerd, I'm not involved in the show but I know the guys are reading users posts carefully here and elsewhere. This episode of the show was essentially a pilot I believe, so the format and subject will no doubt change and evolve. There were things I liked (productivity sketch) and things I disliked (opening banter).
The best bet is to write what you personally would change, what needs scrapping, what needs improving and so on.
None of the content is relevant to what's been going on in the footy world, its just utterly random and not even remotely funny. Think you should axe this show footytube.
Well after a very weak (lame) start I ended up liking it a lot. The sketch at 1:26 minutes in is excellent and the sign-off made me chuckle. I am guessing all you haters out there stopped watching after 30 seconds (which I nearly did too)
All in all presenter very professional, and I like the format - I'll give it another few eps to see if the rest improves!

I look forward to seeing the next few pilots!

Footytube users took their time to suggest their ideas, give their thoughts
Footytube, then decided to ignore all the suggestions and go with this dreadful, unfunny "show".
You guys get so many other things right, listen to your users, and maybe in the future you will get this right.
