This game meant a lot as 2 peoples who hate each other (the Dutch are constantly teetering on the brink of institutionalized xenophobia/a deep hate of Turks) so it was a huge win for the Oranje.

Its like no matter how many chances they created-- Turkey was always destined to lose (sahin on the bench?)

Dutch commentators were praising Robben for how dangerous he was in the game.

I have to be honest, I want him out of the team. Badly. He doesn't cross and he's extremely selfish. If he didn't take the corner kick then he would have made 0 crosses that game.

I hate van Gaal but he did good thing by going 4-1-2-3, it doesn't allow Robben to cut inside as much.

Van Persie scored from the corner kick and almost scored by a cross from Sneijder. Robben, start crossing mofo!

Robben is one of the most selfish players out there. He is talented, that's for sure, but definitely not a team player. Kuyt on the other hand is a real team player, a workhorse. They should swap places. But after they lose to Romania :P

Anyone else dislike Robben as much as I do? I could tolerate it before when he impacted the game often. These days it seems all he likes to do it whine about every call and tumble from the slightest touch....

You don't have to agree... I'm just wondering if others feel the same.

As far as the game.. Turan should have finished that opportunity. Holland needs work in D. I wish the Dutch would find their form like they had during last WC. I was impressed with Turkey, they could be very strong.

Turkey had quite a few clear chances... the header, Arda's 1 on 1 (which he should've tucked away)...

What a crazy game it will be against Romania. I'm counting on the Romanians' pride and team play (along with the desire of the young players to show what they're made of) more than anything.

Very happy to see Krul in the goal. He's a great goalkeeper, better than Vorm or Stekelenburg, and really deserves to wear the n°1 shirt for the Netherlands.

Good game by Holland, Van Gaal is a great manager it is very good that he used a lot of young players which need experience. I think he will rebuild the team and Holland will be again on top.

Wild game and a bit lucky that Turkey didn't score. But a win is a win! 3 points and a good start. Young team and need some experience together. Martins Indie and Heitinga are a good matchup instead of Matthijsen. Great finish by Narsingh...very coollllll
