You know, putting a microphone in goal really added to the excitement. I wonder whether they wired it in to the stadium's sound system aswell!!
kinda funny ^.^
the fact that the quality of play during the match is partially due to RSL nature...they were a below 50% team that hit a hot streak at the end of the season...not enough credit is given to the team the wins the supporter's shield which is the real league champion in every other footballing country

I'm from LA but live in DC
Black and Red 'till I die
What a horrible, dull, uninteresting match. Both teams were awful with lots of fouls and plenty of boring "Route 1 football" hoofs up the field. The ref completely lost control of the match in the 2nd half. If this was the showcase for American soccer, then we have further to go than I had thought. Very disappointing match for anyone not from Utah...
Match may not have been great from a technical level, but the fans were into it and I think that is important.
donovan what a bum how can you sky what is arguably the most important pk in his career but in general all of the saved pk were not good the goalies for both side made pretty ordianry saves
Why what a priceless look on donovans face haha. Im from Utah and wow this was such a wonderful thing to happen!! Go Real Salt Lake, lets win it next year again!!!
Well If you follow the MLS at all you know that Donavan and Beckham have put all those bad feelings behind them. True footy fans here in the U.S. know and understand what a great asset Beckham is to any club and it is a shame that he was booed but it's just your typical U.S. sports fans who know nothing of loaning players to other clubs so that they can keep up on fitness and form. I encourage Beckham to do anything he can to improve his chances of getting to South Africa. And i think that the ignorant fans that booed him are know more aware and accepting of loans in football. And being a Salt Lake City Native . . . Go REAL ! What an Upset. The one time Donavan Chokes ! And if you look a the stats, Donavan has Never scored a PK on Nick Rimando.
Great way to end the season. There was alot of press this year on how Donovan was upset with Beckham's late arrival to the MLS. Galaxy fans booed Beckham's first appearance to L.A. If I were Beckham I would rather play on a team where the fans appreciate me. Beckham's presence in the MLS is a pleasure. I'm pretty sure United would welcome him back with open arms. It seems to me that Donovan needs to focus on his own career. Beckham off to Milan for the winter. Best of luck to him, I hope Capello takes him to South Africa this summer.
wow donovan...what a time to choke. and i just heard him on bill simmons BS Report talking about what a pro at pks he is. he deserves the humiliation for being a dumbass. gg real salt lake and keeper extroadinaire nick ramando.
The real blame lies with Edson Buddle. If he had watched the film of the RSL-Chicago match, he would have known you do NOT go low to Rimando's left on a PK...
it was a fun match to attend. the mls may not be on the same level as the epl or la liga, but it's alot better than most euro-snobs give it credit for.

i can't wait till march!
Unbelievable, never thought Salt Lake would come so far and win this. Donovan is said to be scoring penalties for a career, now what's he done? He has missed it, even Beckham scored. Feel sorry for the Galaxy.
