Nice match. But ridicules bad defending by both teams! Very different from seeing a European match.

We played about as well as i thought we might. that first mexico goal was just unstoppable and there's nothing our guys could do about it really (unless you want to argue that we shouldn't have given him that much room to shoot). that goal changed everything too - after davies scored we had the crowd quiet, but their goal just reawakened the crowd.

The second goal was just a result of the US being gassed, in my opinion. bottom line, we were facing an uphill battle the entire time and the refs didn't help us out much. here's for a strong finish in qualifying and putting this match behind us.

USA should have done better....but they tried.

And yes, Azteca is probably one of the Top 3 Most Difficult venues in the world to go into and win, especially against the Mexican team. Mexico's basically unbeatable there, like Costa Rica in that plastic bandbox of theirs and El Salvador & Honduras' dimly lit stadiums.

I'm so frustrated with how the US played after they scored the first goal. Bob Bradley needs to learn that bunkering after getting a lead more-than-likely results in losing that lead and ultimately the game. Had they continued to play attacking football like they did to score the freaking first goal, we would've seen a different result, at least a draw. So disappointed with the US losing this game. As much as I hate to say it, Mexico deserved this win. I don't agree with the dirty way that they played (various cheap shots, obvious ref bias due to the ref being intimidated by the 100,000+ fans), but it was theirs to win and they won it.

The US will win in Azteca one of these days. They're getting closer and closer.
