Shame on you BM For not fielding your strongest lineup.
I think people should quit saying that City failed to go through because they were new to the CL because more than anything else you discredit Napoli. They are a good team and simply outplayed City.

If you spend the kind of money that City has, being new shouldn't be that much of an issue, especially given the fact that many of the City players have played in the CL already. So to me it is a bogus excuse.

Spurs were also new to the CL last season, but did better with much less talent.

As for the "group of death", no one looked at Napoli as such a big threat. One powerhouse in the group doesnt make it a group of death. The only team was seen as a threat to City was Bayern.

Its simple, City are out because overall they didn't play well enough. No need for excuses.

No excuses, definitely. Bcuz city didnt play well in most of the CL games. no credits shud be taken away from Napoli, cuz they played well.

But jus wanna point out that, money has been spent, isnt jus for CL. its games week in week out. CL is like the WC, every game matters. each team puts everything into it. RM and barca even man u has gone through the same.

u mentions spurs played better , and then ? they didnt really struggle in the premier league last season, but not enough to bring them CL game this season. and they also crashed out to RM 4/5-0 i cant remember.
its just everyone is getting the negative side of city and jus waiting to pounce when anything slip up.

the only thing i would agree is no excuses for city though. rightly so. but isnt there any room for mistakes in football ?

city was new and had a tough group...we all know napoli, bayern and villareal are good teams...so are not they all a threat??? city did their best...wish they had won against napoli things would have been different today!!! man utd had a relatively easier group...look what happen to them...thats a joke!!! haha overrated
Vaishnav, City did their best? I am sure that will offend many City supporters.
Villareal! are you serious?
My point is, it was not a group of death, I never said threats. All teams can win on a given day but in groups like this the more talented teams should win.

Mumbleinriddles, I really don't believe that anyone can argue with the facts of this situation.

No club has spent the way City have in so little time. They have spent for all competitions. Surely when you amass that amount of talent (some with CL experience) you have the CL in close view.

The Spurs did better and nothing...it doesn't matter what happened after. The fact is being new is no excuse and as I have said City are not as new as people are making it seem.

I was very sad when we eliminated from my uefa cup but i felt more happy when i saw mancity also eliminated...lol....we will see your end beware of red manchester!!!
What the f**k are you all giddy about
leave the schoolgirl alone
arent you happy because city got out on a win against bayern and you guys lost to basel??? doesnt that make you happier to know that you had a relatively easy group and could still make it???
We landed a reserve team with so many players who had not played for months..so no shame for us in losing the last game...im even surprised our bench played much better than i expected..

Money cannot buy you the Champions league, same rule applies to both Chelsea and Man City. Don't worry the rule will apply for Chelsea at a later for Chelsea.
Must be cheering in Manchester..
man utd must be brave to still talk a lot..try to beat basel then talk about other teams!!! haha
pity to city, shame on utd.

paycheck more important than playing in UCL knockout rounds for those 2.

/truestory
champions league has been a surprise for the english clubs, maybe chelsea can take it lol
This was one of those match ups that are great about Champions league, especially this super tough group, I mean really good for Napoli though to advance, but I mean I not happy or mad Man City out, I kinda glad there out obviously(I am more happy United is out though) but like good for them to finish with a win, but Napoli had there win as well to advance, but really both goals by Manchester City were spectacular and it shows really why they kinda deserved to advance(then some other teams that are bit lucky to advance and not as good) with all there great players but they got the tough group for sure and I guess thats why the champions league is so fun to watch, but ya so many great teams in UEFA Champions League, and Man City one that has left it for the year

haha dude that was so random, and isn't it like 10 vs 9 on the pic
that what I see but that funny man
This game was like a practice for the bench for Munich, im surprised how well they played against a very good side from city.

Neuer wouldnt let those goals in :)( lets see city fans criticize my opinion :p)

Hmm from what i've witnessed from the game most of the players playing against City are reserves/subs?

They did pretty well to be honest, it's great they didn't play their full squad it would have been humiliation if they did.
They did okay, but this could easily have been a total thrashing. Our players seemed to run out of steam as news came in of Napoli's first goal.

thrashing is a big word for a newcomer...wishful thinking....back to englow you go...ciao ciao
Well done Man city.Try next time.Anyway Mancini's team selection against napoli cost them. But anyway its superb team. All the best to Europa league and Next year CL.
