http://blogs.thescore.com/footyblog/2012/01/12/cox-kompany-was-right-to-be-sent-off-for-reckless-challenge/

as for me, still think it's a yellow with strong caution. but not only united fans who think it's a deserved red!
I have to say that City played their heart out and.....UNITED IS LUCKY! I VOTED LUCKY! I AGREE! Also regarding about Kompany's red card. It is harsh. We all know Nani is a bit of a diver(complete if you don't agree) and EVEN NANI DIDN'T COMPLAIN! So, yes. Kompany sending off = BULLSHIT!
If that tackle was made in a less important match by a less important player everyone would agree with the sending off, Kompany dont deserve special treatment. Well done united! Even though they nearly lost it themselves second half!!
Wow was United Lucky, didn't play all that well, just had some really lucky breaks. The ref was terrible. The tackle shouldn't have been a foul much less a red. He had all ball just studs up, so maybe a yellow but red is terrible. And then jones obviously had a hand ball in the box. If hart was playing, they easily would've won, but the keeper for city did pretty good after saving a pk. The others he could've done nothing about.
pretty lucky in the 8-2 game as well, bet that gets ya a.;|
United were very fortunate to get a terrible call vs Kompany. Without that, they lose for sure.
yeah like you watched the match, we were one up within 10 mins and battering them, fortunate eh.
1 counter attack is far from battering ... like you watched the match.
Nasri moved to a better team or he thought so at least, yet he finds himself on the losing side still paying against man U.

hahahahahahahah

It's even funnier that you can barely beat city a man up from basically the start of the match.

hahahahahahah

funny really, 8 goals passed an eleven man team, 3 against a ten, funny ol' game;|
+2
@matth... Its funny how you say that yet i doubt man utd can beat a 11 man man city... Or atleast a much closer contest!
@Arsenal Dude ... its way way waaay funnier Arsenal hasnt wont a cup since...GOD KNOWS HOW LONG .....
@Messionage, clearly you have a lack of knowledge within English football. August; community shield United 2-0 down won 3-2. Think before you type.
WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT SCHOLESY HERE?!?! WOOOOO SCHOLESAYEE!! totally transformed the midfield. we could never keep-ball like this before his return.
Not that great of a debut. Maybe he needs the momentum of the team. Then we'll talk about his performance!
Lindegaard is a good keeper.

de gea is s**t.
Two footed tackle off the ground, red card - it's as simple as that, that's the rules, don't whine about.

United should have kept the pressure on longer, they could have gone 4-5 goals up from that but looked so lazy after the 3-0 lead.

Good comeback from City but a very deserved united win.

The FA rule book does not state that "two footed tackles off the ground" constitute to a red card, so get your facts right before commenting. For a start, it was a low tackle and Kompany won the ball. EPL need to man up!

fa: "A player who jumps into a tackle two-footed is not in control of himself and therefore if he makes contact with the player, ball and player, or if the referee determines there to be excessive malice in the challenge, he will be dismissed."

Lol you completely made that up or you copied it from some other forum
+1
That's it? That's how you counter his point?
"You completely made that up".
What are you? A six year old?!

I totally agree with Atrixer here but after seeing Glen Johnson's tackle against Man City last night, i can't see much difference (in fact it is probably worse) but yet man city are not even awarded a freekick
i would like to know what people and the FA define by studs up and even two-footed tacle.

i mean Kompany didnt have his legs off the ground when he made contact with the ball and was there an exessive malice in that tackle? or is it because his studs where showing at the moment of the tackle?

in my opinion, there is a little to much ambiguity in this subject and i think the tackle was f*****g awesome.
lest arsene is getting his way, no tackling footy, maybe arseanal can have a chance now ;|
the rules don't state anything about two footed, studs up or anything stated in that quote @paytonred

it's only stated that excessive force or endangering an opponent warrants a red card. So did kompany go in too hard or endanger his opponent?

Basically you're an ignoramous bell end
@troubletonight you are right, even the way paytonred quotes that is bad english. He is an idiot and so are the 4 people who liked his comment, because they are clearly too thick to realise its badly written so therefore can't be a statement from the FA or the rules.
224 say United were lucky? How so. Because we let a 3-0 lead slip to a 3-2 and never really pushed for more goals in the second half?

Man United came out into the second half with a game plan of slowing the game down, keeping possession and waiting for City to make a mistake.

How many times do you normally see Rooney come out of position to get the ball up the field? Did he do this in the second half? No he stayed in position. Even bringing on Scholes to slow the game down and dicate the play. He made what 78 passes in 35minutes with I think something like 98.2% accuracy.

Kompanys red was justified, go learn the rules of the game if you think otherwise.

You were lucky not to draw and you were lucky to get Kompany sent off. City, despite all the money, is a class above Utd.

Utd are nothing more than a manipulative team that play with 12 men.
+4
haha...no single protest when a wolves player got wrongfully sent off at emirates? yet Arsenal couldn't win anyway...
+2
@Troubletonight
Of all the ridiculous points you've made, I'm only going to point out one. How on earth are Man Utd manipulative? That doesn't make any sense. Football is a sport. There is no other way to win other than scoring more goals than the opposition. So unless humans can influence an inanimate object like the ball to go into the net, you are full of crap.
+1
@troubletonight with me, especially if you ever dick us 8-2 again.;|
trouble tonight shut the f**k up stop whinging you make arsenal look bad.
