Can someone please explain Roy Hodgson's obsession with the 4-5-1!? Fernando Torres is a number 9, meaning he's got to play off someone. Why not field the 4-4-2 with either Ngog or Kuyt up front? Hell, throw Babel's ass in there. SOMEONE, s**t.
your a chelsea fan. why do you care?
that was a real entertaining game to watch. Started off very dramatic. I think that it was the right call, true from the defenders reaction to the play i don't think he ment it, but he legitlly put the ball in play. but great display of effort by both teams in the last couple minutes to try to get taht last goal and to hold each other off. Good game
Lost a lot of respect for Liverpool today. Will be rooting against them from now on I believe.
First goal was lol. Agger could've won it for liverpool.
Stevie G was lucky not to get a red, I'll admit that. it was obvious!
and as far as the "pass back".. i dont know hahaha
Anyway overall interesting match, first goal... o.O

Is it just me, or is it somewhat weird to see Liverpool in 16th position? It's even hard to believe now that Liverpool came 7th last season, they way they are now...
give the league a few games b4 looking at positions in the table friend...to put it on perspective...if arsenal were to lose this weekend & liverpool win u'd arsenal would only b 2 points ahead so really, n 9 points behind league leaaders...
but then again, liverpool has to show more effort, the way they r playing isnt making it easier for fans like me..
totally agree Skilliw! way too early in the season to get worried i think. yes they are behind on points but like Skilliw says its like 9 points off top place. EPL anything can happen FACT!!!
Fall from grace.. Sigh.
To be honest i thought Turner was careless. There have been such situations before, but usually the defender throws the ball back to the keeper instead of kicking it back so as to prevent what has happened here. I acknowledge that Liverpool lacked sportsmanship but Turner could have easily avoided such a situation.
Lacked sportmanship, you mean being... Drogba-like? -wink-
All and all, the game has been reviewed and it was legit. The defender did "take" the free-kick, I guess he should beware when playing at the top level, it is not a street soccer.
You can't say it's lacked sportmanship, the situation was confusing and he did kick the ball while the ball is not rolling. It's not like a drop ball situation where you must kick it back to opponent.

But lol at Torres, he looked a bit confused whether to finish it off or not, then he puts all the blame to Kuyt by letting him score the goal. xD
Get the team out of the YANKS first!!! then they might play better!
We'll need a dozen of Ak-47 and I think we both know the man who could supply us that~ Russian craftsmanship^^
good match
Torres, go on! Doesnt give up!
Liverpool (without the ref on their team) 1 - 3 Sunderland. Disgraceful, ref should be sacked, thats how bad it was.
and sunderland (without the ref on their team) would have lost 3-2. That first (offside) torres goal would have given liverpool a huge confidence boost. Too bad the ref's assistant was blind.
Um, did you even watch the match analysis? It WAS offside!
it was borderline. Torres was onside end of story. The sunderland player on the bottom of ur screen was playing him on.

wow i dont think glen johnson is a good right back.. he is good going forward, but defending and marking is always poor. i think sunderland deserved to win this. but im not sure about the funny goal, if turner really meant to give the ball to the keeper, why didnt he throw it instead? but nevertheless it would still be a debate. bent is awesome! he is the indispensable for sunderland
Brutal Elbow by Gerrard Made almost no attempt to play the ball as for the weird goal the sunderland player did fully stop it for a few seconds before rolling it back I think that was good call by the ref.
The elbow was certainly worthy of a red card. Good call for the liverpool goal though, sunderland messed up there.Draw was fair.Torres similar to Rooney so far this season, just not with it at all
Yea, they are both top rated strikers.. just losing form, they'd bounce back though. At least I hope.
