i'll give england the benefit of the doubt.. they were playing on a tough surface, in not exactly the best conditions.. it was good side of england we've start to see under capello.. able to grind out goals and results like this, even when they're not at their best

England were average and lets face it the goal keeper was pathetic, did you see him hold any balls properly, plus the Kazak defence were not the best. Spain or Portugal would have murdered this squad 6or8 nil

Spain surely, but Portugal no way. They can barely get by Albania. Portugal are finishing like John Terry in the rain at the moment.

England are much better than Portugal right now.

Spain, England and the Netherlands look like the top teams in Europe with Italy nipping at their heels.

Marito are you talking about johnson at the back, who in fact has been one of the best players in the premier league this season and is the only decent right back choice for england? hes a mile better than wes brown, and gets forward a lot like we need him to to have 2 cross suppliers on one sid of the field for rooney/heskey/crouch, hes so bad that not only did he set up rooeys goal, he's also wanted by liverpool and chelsea, both top 4 clubs in the league my friend

Agreed. No better right back in England. Neville, over the hill, Brown/Richards no right back and that sadly is the end of a very short list. PFA team of the year, says it all really.
