Dempsey is in the form of his life right now. No, his goals are not the greatest looking goals. But he is so scrappy, he hustles, and he's definitely someone I would want to have on my team. I would not be surprised if some higher clubs in the EPL began to look for him later this year or next year. Proud to have Dempsey represent the US. DEUCE!

Tbis is really an unappealing result for Italy, old football culture lost in home with for so long football outsiders. Italy had many chances but still, hope they will be much better on Euro 2012 tournament.

Donovan's 100% better than Dempsey. I've watched Donovan for Everton when he was there before and recently and he's got a much better football brain. More importantly he's unselfish. Dempsey can often be quite selfish.

I don't think the US will ever be the best at soccer. Their children just aren't born with the passion for it.

You're a dumbass. Different sports are just more popular over here, that's all. Obviously our best athletes here in the US play these other sports. As soccer continues to grow (and it surely is growing) over here in popularity, more kids are going to want to play it, when that happens we can will definitely be one of the best.

dempsey's current form puts him in the top 5 midfielders in the english premier league. only bale and silva are consistently playing better than him and both of them have much stronger and deeper squads.

For the U.S to really improve and become a top ten team we need to start paying our players more in our domestic league. If we paid players even average $40k a week to play football be would see higher end athletes sticking with the sport thru to the professional level, instead of leaving for other sports.

Great goal from Dempsey but I think the United States is lucky that Italy was unlucky. It would have been a much different scoreline if a lot of Italy's chances went in.
