Great plays, bad finishing

Bluee is exactly right. This game should've been completely out of reach after the 1st half. They were really lackadaisical with their scoring chances, and if they had converted then this would've been a walk. Instead, they basically had to fight to make sure that they got the win near the end of the game.

I was disappointed with the lack of energy near the end...but not really too disappointed with the overall result. Group 9 winners, 2 games to evaluate talent, and now it's off to South Africa. Hup Hup Holland.

Think they should take a closer look at Maduro, who is playing in the centre of defence of Valencia almost every single game from the start.

Disappointing to see the Dutch team still struggle once the other team starts making the game more physical. The team really needs to deal with that scenario a lot better. Completely lost the flow of the game, and I didn't see anyone stand up and take charge. Isn't this why we have V. Bommel in the squad?

Also, the back 4 + GK is simply embarrassing at times. I really can't believe Stekelenburg is actually supposed to be the #1 goalie in the country. Watching Mathijsen play just annoys me to no end. There's just so little determination there, which would at least make up for all the physical deficiencies.

First half Holland was brilliant, should have been atleast 0-6 by then. Second half the team fell back, with Iceland scoring a goal in the 88th minute. Overall confident and good win from Holland, but the score should have been a lot higher.
