As the commentators pointed out that Henry actually handled the ball twice, one to control (stop it from going out) and the other to direct it into Gallas' path. That is not an accident!!! Henry, you are a cheat sir!! The comment from the French president didn't surprise me "it's the result that counts..." so if Fance blatantly cheated their way through he doesn't worry what kind of image it gives to his country that he's running?!! I would love to hear what his board room meetings with other nations gonna be like...they would be moving his name plaque around cos nobody would want him to sit next to them..lol!!

no he's not a tricheur, it's a reflex, in the heat of the game, you don't really control yourself , but he admitted it. the problem in soccer is that it takes too many years and victims to evolve. why soccer dont have the video reply and calls like Football( american ). many problems can be solved, they use it just to give red cards for personal fouls , like george weah , and the italian player in the world cup 94. video reply should be used and coaches should have the right to challenge the referees decision , especially goals and offsides.

I dont think he would like to be remembered like Maradona, thats why he openly admitted that it was a handball right after the goal was scored against Ireland. Where as when Maradona netted his handball, he didn't admit that it was a handball until recently. So, now, you have to blame FIFA for not giving Ireland a rematch and for having crappy referees in their company.

why are you guys comparing him to Maradona....Maradona didn't admit his handball until recently thats why it him who to blame. Where as Henry admitted his handball right after the goal was neeted..but refree didnt give it to Ireland..and match was played according to referees order...so, if you were in that situation you would had no choice but to follow referees orders..or else a yellow/red car for arguing with a referee

Maradona actually admitted the hand ball after his game in 1986 to the argentine press. So sorry real madrid your facts are wrong. I see both sides of the arguments. Henry messed up big time. I see why he did it. But it is really no excuse, this was a HUGE game for both countries and this should not stand.

I also believe that instant replay has not place in football. I am american and i see first hand what it does to sports. If implemented it would lead to "challenges" and other such garbage. At the same time, I feel horrible for the Irish they were the better side in that game and deserved to win...however, they missed several chances and shouldve had at lease 2 more goals...

The sad thing about football is that there is no replay or review during the game. American football has this advantage and it ensure a fair game. Maradona and Messi had done it before and got away with it why no Henry? However, it is not fair for the Irish team at all.
France will play the finals with guilt on their back.

There's nothing sad about not having replays in football. Have you ever watched a game of American football? It's extremely irritating when the game stops every minute for a play to be reviewed. Replays would completely ruin the game.
