Vamos Vamos Argentina !!!
+1
glad to see palermo scored.. he is indeed the super sub.. haha at 37, he is still in good shape
Argentina really did take it easy from beginning to end in this match. You could easily tell they were just relaxing and touching the ball not really needing to put pressure on Greece.

The Greeks surely needed to win this game to even stand a chance at passing to the next round, I really don't have any idea why on earth they played anti-football the whole game when they desperately needed those 3 points.

When Argentina did feel inspired to go on the offensive there were no doubts as to how powerful they could be. Aguero, Messi, Veron... the list goes on with how well we performed and the players that made it happen. We were missing 7 starting players from our lineup and it really kind of showed because we relaxed a bit too much.

That Greek striker Samaras is a GEM! I loved his performance and he needs to play for a defensive team in Europe (one of the big ones). he left such a good impression, every time he got the ball it looked like a deadly strike. Him and the Greek keeper truly showed Greek talent.

All in all a good practice game for our reserves, and a HUGE morale boost for all our players. So happy for Palermo and his WC goal, this will be memorable for sure. We face Mexico next... Can't wait to see what Maradona's men, our team "Albi-celeste" brings us.
Vamos, vamos Argentina...
Nice match!
Enjoyed it.
again hand-ball this time by Milito, anyway For me Argntina now is the best team on WC
That is not a handball. FIFA rule says that your hand has to be out in order to be considered a handball. Milito's hand was against his body, not a handball.
ARGENTINA have a good collective effective
MY GOD that was boring. Messi rocking it well but sometimes it was like WTF!
Good game Argentina. Good luck and Messi nice shot really unlucky but u got the assist. Argentina and Portugal in final.
i didnt tell that we deserve to win...i dont like the style of football we play but yesterday we played nice with argentina..ok some of u u may hate greece or any other team but in my opinion when u have to vote between 2 teams u have to vote the one who played better not the team u love...now rehagel is gone...great news for our national temas and teen players..i hope next manager will try to change our tactic and call younger players
the magic of pastore in the lats minutes inspire me he will be the next star of argentina i wish pastore begins the mexico match
unlucky messi ! 0 goal for him !

Argentina played so well ! Favourite team ton win the cup!
There defence isnt good enough to win...when play better teams they will struggle
messi's biggest enemy right now are the goal posts! he's just getting unlucky... once he makes his break through, all hell will be unleashed on tougher opponents :D
I agree: good goalkeepers as well (remember Argentina's first game - Enyeama?). Messi is well on his way to already become a legend, like Pelé, Cruijff and Maradonna himself.
Against bigger teams? the only other "BIG" team playing the way they should be is the Netherlands. Mexico will surely prove to be a tough challenge for our defense but I am positive of the outcome and I am sure Demichelis and co will perform above par.
Rehagel's had a difficult job with that limited team and while I always hated watching them, I gotta admit he's made something out of it over the years. Still, the fact that they have absolutely not evolved since 2004 shows he's no Mourinho. That European title was to some degree a fluke I think, and it might have kept the manager from making any changes to his strategic approach whatsoever. I respect defensive football when I think it's appropriate, but when you have to win a game, you gotta try in some way even when you obviously don't have the class of your opponent. Speculating that two other teams might do the job for you just isn't all that great an approach.
Great post. Completely agree.
Greece hasn't evolved since 2004. They've to change their game philosophy. How it's possible to wait when you've to win the match?
exactly... 9 men in the box.. and 6 man defense at all times... it was so dull to watch... but argentina made it entertaining!
Coca Cola Boyz Played Extremely Well.. :D Especially Messi Played Some Wonderful Football.. Maradona Was Kinda Cocky After The Second Goal Hehe.. He Was Even Teasing Referee After That..And Plus What Happened To The Referees In This World Cup.. People Always Talk About The Referees Rather Than Talk About The Players Performance.. Like In This Match As Well The First Goal Was A Hand Ball By Milito And Referee Had Seen Pretty Enough Of It.. Any How Congrats Argentina..
dude, milito's hand was stuck to his body, and the refree saw it but, why would milito use his hand infront of demiciles??? NO HAND BALL!! fabiano's goal was a TWO HAND BALL!! :)
agreed... maradona should have rested messi after a while... if he got injured it would have been terrible... poor messi, unlucky with the goals... once he gets one or two... its game on! :)
Yeap, no handball. FIFA rule says that your hand has to be out in order to be considered a handball. Milito's hand was against his body, not a handball.
Messi is so unlucky on this World Cup. He plays outstanding football nowadays, honestly I can't remember him playin like that in national team. I hope Argetnina will go all the way.
