In hindsight, It was a great decision to have Messi come off the bench by Tito. Messi definitely needs the rest and it was also tactically astute--a fresh-legged messi against weary defenders must be a nightmare for opposing teams.

There is no question whether Barca will be as good as they were before. They won't. The question is: is the beginning of the season going to be the best or worst we see from now on? They could A) slowly lose the magic Pep had conjured up during his reign or B) improve throughout the season as they adjust to and become more comfortable with the new guy's coaching styles and personality.

No, these are not the questions you should be asking.

The players already know who Tito is, his coaching style, what his personality is like etc...so no, they won't need adjusting to that. He is NOT new to Barca.

The differences or adjustments we can expect depend not on Barca but the other teams. The other teams are getting stronger and Barca has to mix it up in order to become as effective as they were when teams were still trying to figure them out. As long as the other teams remain confused this will continue to give Barca the edge.

Ray Hudson is in a class all by himself. I'm not sure what class that is, but he is unique. "Peeled away defenders like a tangerine" (or something like that). Where does he get this stuff?

And I have to agree -- those Barca uniforms are horrible.
