very similar style of play to Dortmund... i like it :)
Cracking finish Schurrle
+1
why do all the german games have decent highlights on footytube, think footytube favours them. germany looking very good best young team in euros and they will definatly go a long way in competition, dam the germans always looking strong, love for england to play em at some point
+1
It has nothing to do with being favored. It's just about the availability of highlight footage and I guess some legal issues of posting them on the net.
+2
Yeah, Footytube doesn't favor anyone. Not sure why people don't get that everything gets posted by an unbiased algorithm.
+1
I guess it has to do with the fact that German football makes more money from merch and stadiums than TV rights, so I'm guessing there are a fewer legal issues since there is less money going around.

Germany have to be better with their chances in the Euro's. Hope to see Holland and Germany go through, I don't think Portugal has what it takes.
i think all teams in this group have a good chance to go through, it's dangerous to underestimate any team, esp. in a group of death.
+1
The difference between Germany, Netherlands and Portugal isn't in the talent, all of the players of any of these three is talented. The problem is how the group works.
The germans are tight as hell as a group, the dutch hate eachother but got connected with a worldcup final.
As for Portugal, they are doomed, everybody hates everyone, two major players refused to join the national because of the mood... Bad mood brings bad results.
+1
Denmark to shock everyone and make it out of that group?? nobody's given them a chance...
+3
@Dcroux, the Dutch hate each other? Source?
schurrle looking good
Now someone please tell my why Gomez couldn't just do that against Chelsea. That is all you do Gmoez, get the ball in the right place and make it count. Why couldn't you just do that against Chelsea. There should have been no one wanting to go to Chelsea over the summer. For once the story should have been different but then Munich you just had to s**t all over yourselves didn't you. And now its the same old transfer window story, everyone who's someone goes to Chelsea. Will the money reign ever end :(
can't really blame munich for this, they did their best! it is not up to one club to change the 'same old transfer window story'. i like FFP but it's the specific details of the regulation/s that matter the most, not just that financial fair play is being passed.
Chelsea's defense is much better, and the pressure of the CL Final against an international friendly is completely different. That being said, I totally agree with the rest of your assessment
+1
yeah, it's different never meant to even imply that it's the same... but of course i don't think the CL is the same as WC Finals or EC Finals either.
Yeah, CL is better than both of those in terms of overall level of play / talent.
agreed... probably relevant to say a lot of these club players are the same players that play in the EC and WC; and many times they do not seem to perform well.

club teams are a business so obviously that may effect things like talent pool, and the level of play in a specific club ;).

it's also hard to compare the WC to the CL, imo the WC is the hardest trophy to attain.
Germany is stocked with talent. Best team in the world.
you mean Spain! imo Spain's B team may be able to beat most of the teams in their group. we beat spain btw, 4-0 in a friendly last year, so don't count us out.
1)Portugal 2)Holland 3)Germany 4)Denmark. Germany is too arrogant...
none of the teams can afford to be arrogant in this group!
Lol ye right, coming from an englishmen. That's why Germany always performs on the big stage and England just talks and talks and talks about how they should and would be winning everything.
Because the english are not arrogant and the Germans don't keep winning.
+2
sort of true! Germany has left the group stages before in the euros, we haven't. the arrogance thing applies to a lot of teams... esp. in football history; the English and the German should know well!
Holland and Germany will advance. Both those teams are gelling and winning games, but Portugal is not, and they are probably screwed. Plus watching Ronaldo suck it up again on the international stage will be fun.

wtf are u talkin about. do u know ur history? im sorry thats a stupid question.
I really hate when people bring up historical stuff and they r just sayin it to be provocative.
Such talent on the German side..but..even though a friendly...it looked a little like they were taking it too easy. Not that impressive against a much weaker side.
Germany was never good in friendlies and qualifiers, but they win it matters. Argentina and England are the opposite.
ooooh riiight, they just played the most successful euro qualifying in their history, with every single match won
+4
yes and that showed in the friendly against Switzerland the other day ; )
germany added another record by being 10-0 in qualifiers but those things don't mean much... just as winning friendlies doesn't mean much either... it's a tough group. our team have never been knocked out of the group stage of EC, germany and netherlands scored the most goals in qualifiers, and denmark managed to finish ahead of us in our group already once :(.
my statement was a reply to "Germany was never good in [...] qualifiers" by Samrsenior
@Ghanaboy95
"Germany a great team..."
Good thoughts though, your absolutely right.
lol
Germany are a great team but If they are not carefull this great generation of players will end up like the dutch (such a great team but never win anything)
+1
yeah, as a Portugal fan I know what that is like :(. Really thought we had EC 2004.
UBER ALLES
Great game! Isreal is rank 58 btw, Iceland is 131...
what about Switzerland and Serbia?
+1
pretty sure Switzerland is tied for 18th, or around there -- Serbia imo is in the 30's too lazy to check!
Once again, the Germans looked rather subdued, especially in the first half. Still, I don't think Germany's lack of recent form should cause too much concern. The Germans ALWAYS show up for the big games and tournaments, and Euro 2012 will be no different. This game showed that they have tremendous depth in the attacking positions
