Enjoyed watching this match and very happy for how Germany doing and excited! Great goals from Gomez, already 3 goals in 2 games, the goals were fantastic finishes, the first great pass in and then the turn and in, jumped up so happy with buds. The 2nd goal was just great placed shot perfect and great! Im happy we beat Netherlands, but really kinda surprised how bad they doing with loss Denmark and how Van persie playing, but awesome finish by Van Persie there, that was great shot for sure.
Germany dominated that first half and a nice consolation goal for RVP.
People coming on here saying Holland have a chance to qualify? yea right, they going home, Holland vs Portugal game will be tough don't see Holland blowing away Portugal in fact this might be a tie game as Portugal will most likely play for a tie if Germany beats Denmark, but hopefully the Danish make it through..
it's all still up in the air, don't count the Netherlands out ;)
Germany going to smash Denmark, the Netherlands and Portugal going to be very close I think it should be good, but think Netherlands could pull it off, should be great.
A nice fact for you guys , Gomez time with the ball was 22.7 seconds. He scores 2 goals. Bam.

Gomez is useless
But compared to Torres....

Although Germany won, I still think they can do better. Germany are all dependent on Mario Gomez, giving him lots of pressure. I hope he can cope.

strikers score :D what a concept

they have Klose on bench as well, but germany great all overall :)
yeah most teams have other strikers on the bench ;)
yes but almost none of them have Klose's quality on the bench. Holland, maybe.
Mats Hummels ist der neue DFB-Abwehchef.

As a fan of Germany, the positives are that:
1. Gomez is scoring goals
2. Germany are showing the maturity to win cagey encounters. The game vs Portugal was even more important in this respect. This kind of experience is needed against their arch nemesis Spain evil.
3. Hummels has added class to the defence and I salute Löw for all the courage he has shown in handing him a start. Never got a hint that Löw would do this! What a good news!
4. Provided things don't fall apart, this backline could be there for years, hope at least until 2014 WC. Let's hope the guys won't drop in form. And, c'on Schmelzer has to grow up to take Lahm's role at LB when it's due.
5. Shweinie is regrowing in form and lets hope it culminates with bagging the trophy.

The negatives are:
1. The dynamism and fluidity that has been typical of Germany since 2006 and perfected during the qualifiers has not emerged yet..in both matches it was seriously lacking.

2. The one touch tip-tap football in final third from Mueller-Ozil-Klose/Gomez has not started yet and that is worrying. That's what makes Germany's football exciting. Maybe Gomez is not the man to do this. Hopefully it kicks off against the Danes.

3. Ozil can score goals from inside 18 yards and yet seems does not want to. He always seems too intent on passing the ball to the team mate or getting past all opponents in front of him when shooting at goal seems to be the easier option. But, anyway he is the focal point of attack.
4. Klose now lacks match practice, Germany need him to score when Gomez goes missing in a one-off match.
5. Somehow, Poldi has so far contributed very little. Even more surprising is that Löw has not yet unleashed Götze, Reus and Schurelle when this has been the case.

Anyway, hope the players do not get carried away and take themselves as favorites. This is just the right time to fine tune, step up a gear and hit the peak. Fearsome opponents await in QF, SF and it's high time they won a trophy for all their talent and right things they have been doing in football.

two thumbs up for this!
Good analysis. Agree with everything.
Regarding negative's point number 3: Yes,Ozil is capable of scoring. And yes again,he doesn't want to shoot. He has made it clear that he's a player that thirst for assists instead of goals. He places assisting his striker as a priority over scoring.
So,in my opinion that isn't too bad of a negativity.
+1
quite understandable, but sometimes it would be good to put chances on back of the net, esp in games when they come in few numbers.
+2
i do agree on all of your points...perfect analysis.maybe the match against denmark could be the point to unleash the dynamic?
Ozil is the unsung hero in the two matches. He makes runs all over the pitch dragging defenders along with him and make space for other German midfield. The two goals against Netherlands were all created because the space was created for Schweinsteiger to make the pass. Podolski is the only left winger in the team who tracks back and defend. Low has said that thats why he makes him play 90 minutes.

i can't belive holland all must going home frist round.i hope they have bad luck 2012 euro cup
mhhh... i understand!
+3
They still have a chance, although it will be really tough for them - they have to defeat Portugal by at least 2 goals and hope Germany beat Denmark.
not over for the Netherlands just yet! but maybe soon D:
Netherlands will qualify!
lets hope they dont go to war as they did in the world cup
+2
Holland the first team to qualified for the Euros and the first team going home..
Ireland is actually the first team to go home. The Dutch can still qualify, and it's not even that unrealistic, seeing as how Denmark will have to play Germany.
+2
Netherlands can't beat top flight teams if they're back four are not even qualified defenders. This nation needs to produce good defenders, not just strikers and midfielders!
Deserved win for Germany, who are looking good.
Schweinsteiger + Gomez = no chance for the Netherlands
RVP did the best he could and scored.
People should stop trying to find someone to blame and why the Netherlands played rubbish. They didn't play rubbish, Germany was just too good.
Oh, and the 3 people who voted Germany as rubbish probably don't know how to use the internet.

i'd rather say they were dutch supporters...
+3
i'm sure most of the Dutch are happy for Deutschland :) and they also know it's not over just yet!
Great win from Germany,Go DFB!!
Personally,I think Gomez's second was superb and Loew should play more of Schurrle and Gotze. :)

Not pleased with Bert van Marwijk blaming entirely on the Dutch defence. As a coach he should be partly responsible. His decision to play more of Van Persie over Huntelaar particulary upsets Huntelaar and also Van de Vaart. And when the captain is upset with the coach, nothing good comes out of it.

So reflect on yourself,Bert van Marwijk instead of blaming entirely on your team. You've made tactical errors too.

holland very much on the brink to get eliminated if they dont win the final match but germany and denmark or portugal to progress
