ironic how angry pulis is when HIS players get roughed up.
two post hits from Dempsey one goes in one goes out
Great knuckleball shot from Dempsey. Hard to appreciate it from the profile angle but the you can really see it moving around viewed from the goal end camera.
Great win for Fulham at home, nice first goal with good finish, then Dempsey smashes one from distance and hits bar and off goalie, thats a goal thats good it went in but not good luck by keeper, then Stoke got one for away fans, with nice header but wasn't enough, they could done better, but good win fulham
dempsey is too good
The Russian basically stole Riise's shot for his goal. He also should've been sent off for that horrible attack.
Cool finish from Pogrebnyak on his debut.

An open letter to Clint Dempsey:

Please, for the love of all USA soccer fans that want to be proud of someone/something, go all out for Fulham like you have and then find the team that suits your skill appropriately and you will be the most anti-football country's biggest star. You'll be the most oxy-moronic superstar living and will get the most attention for it nonetheless. God, just go to Arsenal and get Juan Mata to join you. After that, none will be able to compete

I'm surprised Palacios walked away from that challenge. Studs to the knee. Doubt the FA will do anything about it.
LOL @ Tony Pulis shaking his head at Pogrebnyak's challenge on Palacios. I'd feel more sympathy for him and his players if they weren't such a gang of thugs. Eat your own medicine, Stoke, f*****g eat it!

Stunning stuff from Dempsey! I wish he could have got credit for that smash, but none the less he is in incredible form of late.

Crouch missing. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Smashing shot from Dempsey. Unlucky it has to go down as an own goal. He was unlucky to get a second when he beat the keeper and hit the post. Great début goal for Pogrebnyak but that challenge should have at least deserved a card. Horrible challenge.
why was dempsey's goal an own goal for sorenson?
Because the ball bounced off the crossbar and hit the keeper to go in.

Dempsey's strike did not go in. Meaning if the keeper wasn't there it would NOT have gone in. Because of the keeper, it went in. Therefore OG. (Different then a deflected goal)

Kind of a lame rule but not the 1st time. There have been some great free kicks that have gone down as own goals.

Oh, that sucks!!

Please excuse my "pro-Dempsey soap-box" for a moment...

I get that it is an OG when it is a pass that takes a deflection and goes in but when it is a shot that takes a deflection and goes in it seems to me it should be a goal.

Also, the tackle on Dempsey seemed red card dangerous to me.

The rule I think is that if it takes a deflection off a player who hasn't moved and goes in, then it is a proper goal but if the person it takes a deflection off of moved to stop the ball, then it is an own goal, because the goal is then a result of the action of the blocking player. Sorensen jumped for the ball, so that's probably why it's an own goal, the shot came off the crossbar and was not going in before it hit Sorensen in the back.

actually it doesn't have to do with the movement any defending players it comes off of. If a shot/pass is "on target" (eg. is going to go in the goal if nothing obstructs it) and then is touched by any defending player, it's a goal credited to the striker. If the shot/pass is "off target", and touches any defending player regardless of their movement, it is an own goal
