Henry is a great player and was well respected. This might tarnish his great career a little. I wish it didn't happen because he is one of my favorite players. I would like to have a rematch so the Henry will not have that with him for the rest of his career. But it was a sad day for the great game of FOOTBALL.

Irish DON'T deserve a win with poor finishing like that. In any sport if you're truly destined to win a competition u'll find a way to score. Leaving a game 1-0 is the worst thing you can do if you're trying to win (unless you're Greek). Sure Ireland outplayed France and YES the call was bad. But the ref cant see everything and the WC is about winning no matter what. Henry knew it was a handball and played on.

That being said it should be an interesting WC Iike how many different teams made it this time round.

I heard Duff was inconsolable after the game. Completely broke down. It was to be his last World Cup.

Ireland gained respect for the way they fought till the end. It will be disappointing not to see them in the WC 2010.

I feel really sorry for the Irish. let's be honest, we don't deserve to go to the WC, not only after this game (and the hand) but after the whole qualifications! Too bad, that was a good oportunity to get rid of Domenech... Now, we have to win this WC to gain "respect" again! lol
Henry's hand was not intentional but I hate the idea of winning like that.. Once again, our apologies to the Irish. %70 of my compatriotes would have prefered to loose than to win like this!
