Actually, yes, they did need goal differential points, in case Serbia slipped to gain command of their group. In addition to the fact that the last time they faced the same team and only one 1-0 they were showered with criticism for not being convincing.

France showed the quality they can produce. However, they were playing Faroe Islands, so one might expect this kind of result. Some quality play through from France, I wont take that away from them.

Boring game. Gignac got a couple of sweet goals which is nice to see from ayounger French striker but the Faroe Islands team never threatened. The result couldn't have been too different without a miraculous effort on the part of Faroe Islands boys or a monumental meltdown on the part of the French.
at last.... a confortable win for the french team... but we also have to know that there was no testing of the french team from the oponent... but gud performace and some great goals too..
