It's a shame to hear the sour grapes from Baptiste. Ironic that he criticised some of our long balls when Blackpool's equaliser came from a long ball. He may have forgotten that when we played a couple of months back we outplayed and outpassed Blackpool with 10 men and a midfielder playing in goal for the whole of the 2nd half to cap off a 4-1 win.
In summary nobody can argue West Ham deserved to go up. We beat Blackpool 10-2 over the 2 league games this season and finished 11 points ahead of them. How can anyone possibly argue 'pool deserve to go up instead?
Anyway good luck to Blackpool next season. I think your chairman should give holloway a bit of money because he has earnt it.
Up the Irons !!
It's a shame you say this about our fans. I was at the game and it looked like our fans were getting on very well before the match. Of course we have some idiots as does every club. I've also seen videos of violence by Blackpool fans, so don't pin this only on us.
As for the singing we were singing for the majority of the 1st half while you lot were silent. Then you scored early in the 2nd half and started the predictable you're not singing anymore. That was the fist time we heard you all game. You are right that we were very quiet in the 2nd half but that's because there was a lot of tension in our end. We really thought we were going to lose because Blackpool were over running us in midfield. There were a lot of nerves. Sometimes when you're that nervous it's hard to break into song. Remember we had a lot more to lose than Blackpool because of our high wages and the expectations.
Anyway for what it's worth I like Blackpool. Holloway was very gracious in defeat and many managers could learn something from him. Good luck for next season
i´ve often said the best thing about supporting west ham is the support.. but it´s also the worst thing. It´s the best because of the amazing loyalty west ham fans have shown the team down the years. It´s the worst because we have an small element of fans who cause trouble. We are also I believe the only team to boo our team off the pitch after a victory because the football wasn´t good enough. Don´t tell me about playing attractive football. Historically West Ham are famous for it.. not Blackpool. That is why Sam Allardyce has called our fans deluded. There probably has never been a team that has gone up to the premier league with so many discontented fans. I would point out though that the football is not as ugly as the media make it out to be. At times this season we have played some great passing football although I admit this has been few and far between. What you say about this style of football not being good enough to stay in the premier league.
ARE YOU FOR REAL???? HAHAHAHA
Didn´t Blackpool and West Ham both get relegated last season because they were pretty on the eye but not particularly good? Haven´t Stoke city been in the premier league for several seasons just playing long ball football? If anything, this ugly style of football means we have a better chance of staying up. However, I have a feeling Big Sam won´t be at West Ham for very long. The relationship between him and the fans hasn´t been good and I can see him packing his bags at some point.
As for the songs. Yes we sing bubbles a lot. But at least we are famous for having our own song. Name another club with an anthem that is as old and only to be associated with their club? Anyway we sang many many other songs at wembley. All I heard from Blackpool was the chant of sea sea seasiders. We definately sang a lot more songs that you lot did.
Anyway, best of luck
Baps is just the most epic center-back I've seen... Phil Jones could learn a thing or two from this guy.
