SPOOOOOOOOOOOOORTIIIIIIIING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
E O SPORTING É O NOSSO GRANDE AMOR!!
It wasn't a penalty
Metalist had a better game today, but I feel Sporting deserved to go through. The penalty decision was harsh, I'm so glad Patricio was able to stop it.
Yes we are in the semis! But in fact, if Metalist had gone through, they would have deserved it. I thought they would go all out attack from the start, but no...They were calm, patient, almost stubbornly cautious...And they wouldn't caused us much trouble in the first half if we had defended properly, Polga's defending was particularly dreadful, Insua wasn't concentrated and the team felt disconnected. So, just like Metalist's goal in Portugal, van Wolfswinkel (great) headed goal came a bit out of nowhere.
In the second half, we suffered the goal and I started to feel uneasy and when we conceded the penalty I thought we were out! But in came Patrício, what a keeper! And the fact is Metalist lost a bit of confidence, and thankfully we started to defend better, more composed at least.
We were "Awesome" in the first leg, but "Average" today; Metalist were "Great" in both legs. All in all, both teams could have gone through. Thank God it was our day! Let's keep on dreaming (although we need to be more consistent!)!
