I think it's time for Rooney to retire....XD
england dominated and should have won at least 3 or 4-1 and the goal conceded was slip of concentration from or great 83 mins dominantion
England will be world champion thanks to Rooney's freesdive !!
God save Rooney, the best diver of the universe...

Definately a dive... look at his arms high up in the air... what does that shows? An eye for a penalty
Tell you what guys, I've watched the video over and over trying to work out if Rooney actually did dive. I couldn't come up with a certain answer and consigned myself to believing it's possible that he dived. But I read a post by Rankoor on one of the posts far down the thread and he mentioned that the ref blew his whistle before Rooney reacted. Naturally I was curious and checked it out. And he was right! So i watched it a couple more times and noted a couple of responses/facts (are you listening Rafa? heh heh)
So here's what I think happened:
1. Rooney missed the ball and lost his footing.
2. Ball was still in play and not heading out until a Slovenian player later headed it out.
3. Ref blew his whistle. Rooney definitely hears it before turning around.
4. Rooney thought Slovenia got the free kick and turns to protest.
5. He sees the ref point to the spot, gets up, shrugs and takes it.
Firstly because he hits the ground and turns to the ref after the whistle blows. Secondly because when he turns, the look on his face is more like "They get a free kick for THAT?" than "Penalty for us ref?" More incredulous than questioning. Thirdly, the look on his face when he gets up is not "Yes, good call ref" or a "High five guys", he just looks bemused, as though he's been given a gift that he doesn't know whether he deserves.
You may believe differently, but I'm not writing to convince anyone else. I honestly believed he might (and probably did) dive before, but after reading Rankoor's post and checking the video, I'm convinced this is actually what happened.

I don't think it really matters whether Rooney dove or not. It was a friendly match and players play pretty casual in matches like this. Its pretty obvious above all that the ref made a bad call. Calls like this should be a lesson for refs in matches when it really matters.
Hum hum, chelsea61, I though you was a hard defender of fair-play. How can you let it go ? Friendly or not, rules should be clear no ? Besides, it's not like it's Rooney's first dive or something lol. He should be ban of PL man.
What I saw was a bad call by the ref. Rooney did not exagerate or complain about it. I do advocate fair play very strongly and if FIFA feel the need to ban Rooney I would support it. This is why I also advocate the initiation of an instant replay reveiw of game changing moments in important games. This was a friendly match and so I think too much fuss is being made.
Sportsmanship mean anything?
Watch old clip when Robbie Fowler argue to the Ref not to award Liverpool with the Penalty.
Remember Gary Lineker...
And maybe more from other England players, sure things is Fowler and Lineker one of the reason that got me to support England because I think they value fair play more than any other team.

England played average... If Terry and Rooney tacked in the goals would been lot different. Bring on CROATIA!! REVENGE!!
Idk what you guys are talking about but Rooney didnt loose his footing he just fell down and it looked to be on purpose. I mean he kept his foot up instead of planting it so he could stay up. No way that he just fell. Idk if he was trying to get a penalty but it certainly didn't look like he just lost his footing
hahaha for all u peoplewho think it is a dive he fell over and then beat the ground in frustration he didnt even looka t the referee he did after the whistle went it was jsut a bad refereeing descision so get off ur high horses and support your f*****g country and if ur not from england watch out for us in the world cup!!
