Funny thing about ALL these comments is the assumptions they imply... AND that they were made before the game. I wonder what they all think... NOW.. HAHAHAHAHAHA.
Seriously, Torres is an ill striker, probably the best in the world simply because he plays the game the way it should be played- pace, grit, style. I love Torres, but he and Drogs are TWO DIFFERENT players and each has his purpose. Individually, Torres outshines Drogba in technical skill on the ball, and in his finishing. But the game isn't just individual, and as part of a system, with other players etc. Drogba's value makes him more important to winning a game than Torres. As someone earlier said, it's all about what you want out of your striker...

do u guyz know what the best striker in the world means.. full stop no one is better than torres but drogba is not that far from him

Only someone who is blind would say that Chelsea play beautiful football to watch. I'll give credit; Chelsea are favourites to win EPL this season, there a winning team and one of the most dominant clubs in Europe in the past 5 years, BUT THEY DON'T "PLAY WELL"!!!

You wanna see a team play well, then it's Arsenal, Barcelona and to some extent Man Utd.

Torres is good, he has proven his worth for both his club and country, and most importantly, he is much more discipline then Drogba. He combines very well with his midfielders and wingers. The only thing that Drogba is better than him is the ability to hold on to high ball, Drogba is good in chesting ball, control and hold, then make quick strike or pass on to his partner or any on coming midfielders. And also people like Drogba seem to perform better in big game.

This past summer Liverpool recieved THREE 50-60m bids for torres....and one of them was from chelsea. i think that fact speaks for itself

Torres has got more craft and drogba mor brut force. Depends what you want for your strikers... A centerforward with an uncontrolable hunger for goals or a strong holding striker who will win headers for link up play and score a few himself.
For me torres edges it as the better one.

Torres And Drogba, Torres Is Only 25 while drogba is 31, Torres appearance is 64 times and scored more than 50 goals, And Drogba Appearance is 141 and he only scored 61..To me Torres is Currently the best Striker in the world.

torres at the moment is on fire. It is pretty close, but I think by the end of his career torres will have scored more goals than Drogba. I just doubt he will ever get to hold a cup unless he leaves liverpool. So Drogba will have actually accomplished more, but torres will have scored more. Both sound pretty good. The only way to actually find out is to put them in each others positions. And who said Rooney? HAHAHA! thats laughable he is good, but not on either of these two guys level!
