After two days it is really annoying how nobody realized how bad the german commentator was (extremely over the top critisizing the performance and claiming they were out when they were not), and how so many criticize Özil because they think he is a player who just dribbels through the defense and scores. This guy has other qualities. But being ignorant is so much easier, i guess.
And please fire those commentators and replace them with guys who know a thing or two about football, and who actually enjoy our team.
This was pretty good game, it wasn't the best germany game, we defiantly could have finished better thats for sure, we had some chances should finished, even Gomez who was on fire with other 3 goals in games, he played not best today, he didn't shoot, took too many chances and was poor. But he still great, but love Klose and hope he gets to play more then be sub. As for Denmark they got nice header goal like many in tournament with Bendtner involved and the Krohn Dehli, but not enough but good hard work for them in tournament, just outside of a strong tournament so good for them. Great to see Podolski get that goal, was nice in his 100 game, and Bender finish of late was nice too, Im excited for Greece game! Germany!
What Muller has that few players in the squad have, is that Muller plays with a lot of heart for the badge. He plays simple football, makes simple but effective runs, works behind the striker and gets involved supporting offensive development. That translates to a great work rate. If Gomez had twice the passion of Muller we would have been winning 3-0 4-0 instead of letting nerves get the best of us. Hope to see Klose. Enough of the Gomez experiment. Sure he can score, but not good enough given our available options.

I think your way of describing it summarizes Müller's unique style quite well. With Klose in the team he plays even better, so put the old man in the starting 11, as long as he can "drag his carcass" around, just how he himself described it hilariously. ;)
bring on greece ;)
Cheers to Denmark. A collective unit that played attacking football and worked well together. Really sad to see them get knocked out. The dutch ought to learn a thing or two from them.

why does a compliment for one team have to be followed by an insult to a another. Dutch had a poor run at things this tournament and that is all...
Nobody was talking Sh*t when they made the final of the World funking Cup (as it was originally known)
Bendtner should've had a penalty right at the end, but hey, guess it is fair when you consider the game against the netherlands
ye also Bendtner had used his arm to keep Badstuber away before. They both then held the opposing players jersey.
Its a close call.
And since the ref didn't award many free kicks, it makes sense he didn't here either.
As always the Germans play with such prestige. Denmark played them well. They should be proud the way they represented their nation in the tournament.
Some commentators were saying that Bendtner would have got the penalty if he had just gone down instead of trying to finish. Which makes no sense whatsoever.
It's hard to be a small country in the Euros. Now I have to cheer for Greece as they face up against a new team of incompetent, biased referees.
Anyway, today the Danish players are satisfied with their general performance and promise better things for the World Cup.
Greece the only team that has gotten a penalty from refs so far!

ye hard to be a small country... Remember 92? what won you the cup? A handball. Refs on your side. Vs Holland now. Handball. Refs on your side still. Really tough. At least you have an excuse for losing. It is because you are small... your words not mine.

Fair enough, although you imply that Holland isn't a small team. Which is clearly wrong.
Superb game. Well,I was still criticizing Loew for choosing Lars over Gotze a few days ago. But now, after watching Lars consistently making long runs up and down the side of the field,I have to say I've wronged Loew's judgement.

Denmark did great too, they played with a certain fluidity. And it was certain luck that Poulsen struck the woodwork, thus giving us the match winner.

Muller was my man of the match,in my opinion. He created many chances, assisting, attempts, runs etc. But then he always seems to leave the pitch battered.

:) yeah you definitely cannot fault Muller for effort no matter what game he plays. I still dont think hes as good technically or as creative as some of the other options available to Germany but Loew seems to think his work rate makes up for this. Im undecided, but either way its nice to have the options.
What makes Müller so special is his style of playing, simple as that. Can't really explain or grasp what it is though, but you can see it in how he moves around on the pitch, just very unique.

As for the performance so far I still think it's because of Gomez. Don't get me wrong, he's a superb striker and has done his job well so far, but he lacks the skills and/or experience to work with the trio behind him.

Still think that's why those 3 positions have been our weakest so far, the link (Klose) in this delicate construct is missing, and so is the beauty of the "German Machine" as people like to call it. You could witness it yesterday when Klose came on the pitch, Özil's performance also went up.

Vivastpauli, totally agree.
The minute Gomez stops scoring or is useless (might turn out like that vs. Greece), Klose has to get some more play time.

DAS IST GUT JAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!
Hate me now, but I think all the "awesome" votes are a bit flattering for Germany. They played really, really well up to Podolski's goal, and the half-time score was lucky for the Danes. That's when the Germans became disappointing from what I saw (watching 50% this match and 50% the other one)...they became hesitant around the box, stopped and interrupted their own attacks, failed to create real chances and probably did become nervous. The 2-1 was based on a pass intended for someone else (Klose I think).

Still of course, they're absolutely the right winners of Group B. They've been the best, most consistent, coolest and most professional team here. So congratulations. If they get back that vigorous attacking form they had two years ago, they might go very far.

Probably not awesome alright, but it didnt have to be. With 6 points the could afford to hold back a little. Maybe not intentionally, but in the back of their minds they were probably thinking about the last 8. Id say we will see a more clinical Germany against Greece.

Great game by both teams. Fortunately we were a bit lucky that day, but all in all it was well deserved and the slightly better side won this game. Denmark should have gone through as 2nd place, not Portugal, those arrogant roosters ^^

It's funny when the attitude of one player seems to fall back on the entire team. ^^ Despite Mr. Arrogant being himself like always I think Portugal played solid throughout all 3 games and even took it up a notch against Oranje. I'm biased because CR scored the goals, but a good performance normally stands for itself and let them qualify rightfully in 2nd place.
You don´t go far in a tournament without being a bit lucky at times. That is what happened to us yesterday. Denmark could have actually sent us home. They should be proud of their performance, though. Now focus lads! You have what it takes to bring that trophy to Germany!
I don't believe Denmark's No. 19 sold out the game, but it sure looked like it!

It was nice for Podolski to score a goal on his 100th cap and at only 27 years of age, I hope to see this stuff when he plays for Arsenal next season, great player he is. Also why does Muller keep starting, he's a great player but he has been incredibly inconsistent for club and country for a while now.
