should be pitted in Arsenals History and even champions league history
what a fightback!
what a game!
And you should be the last out of current top 6 of EPL to speak about Arsenal performance...
the premier league flatters to deceive and is an archaic 'kick-and-rush' brand of football that does not work any more.. you see the evidence on both the international stage and in european competition.. basel, napoli, and bilbao dominated the manchester teams - runaway prem leaders - and they are hardly runaway leaders in their own leagues (except basel).. stop buying into english media hype and look for yourselves.. why do the prem teams only go for elite coaches from europe? there's hardly a decent english manager in the game because they simply don't have the tactical ability to compete with the best teams in europe... and the most successful british manager - alex ferguson - has a rubbish record in europe, and he even admits this himself.. spanish football is technical and that's why technically gifted players prefer to play there (that's why donaldo left the prem), italian football is tactical which is why older, experienced players thrive there, while the prem is 'hoof-it-up-the field-and-chase' rubbish, which the press like to amp up as 'pace' and 'speed'... it only looks good when some of the instinctive plays work, but for the most part you have players like walcott, lennon, etc. just running up and down the pitch without thinking... in my opinion, spanish (technical) and german (combines pace/physicality with technical flair) football are the best value for money...
it really comes down to a matter of preference as to what brand/type of football fans want to see, and if you like technical/flair football, watch la liga or eredivise, serie a for tactical, bundesliga for a decent combination of physical & technical, and only watch the prem either if you're english, a fan of blood & guts 'old school' football, or simply a casual fan that reads the english media too much without actually 'observing' football...
Other leagues have styed more consistent with their personality.
Fool!
Once the media say something, people follow like sheep.
Most managers moan when things don't go their way, please don't be naive.
Arsenal showed great intensity in the first half and made Milan nervous, leading to their mistakes, so in this sense they deserved the goals and should be given credit. However, they should also be very thankful thankful that Milan ("were disrespectful" someone said, and) considered the tie over because it gave Arsenal the chance to regain some pride. If Milan had come out hungry and beaten them again, it would have been disastrous for Arsenal.
All in all, the the teams are separated by Milan's experience. It is a team of champions that know how to win. This is what Arsenal lacks. The Milan players and coaches said after the game they played horrible, there is no cause for celebration, and took responsibility. Arsenal complained about the refs and the pitch. This is the difference. Wenger's side never improves because he never accepts loss and grows from defeat. It shows a lack of class.
Ibra's comments were not an insult. Its the type of person he is. If he is not winning he loses ambition. He considers himself (and RvP) a top player and believes top players should be at the best clubs, always winning trophies. Its not bad that hes unloyal, its just how he is. Winning motivates him and he loves success. For this his teammates respect him. There is a reason why he has won 8 (going to be 9) straight titles in 3 different countries. You cant argue with those numbers.
Finally, the Serie A vs BPL. From my experiences, many Serie A fans like myself, also enjoy the BPL, because I love the game, regardless of the country its played in. However BPL fans are always criticizing the Italian game for reasons I don't understand. I could care less, because they are missing out on one of the most fascinating and talented leagues in the world and showing they don't really love the sport, they just love a team. How many BPL teams (let alone in the top 6) play with 3 defenders? How is that playing defensive football? Seeing tactical battles AND some of the most technical players in the world is very exciting, but i guess thats just me. Milan had a 4-0 advantage and they still played 3 attackers. I thought the last 20 minutes would 10 men defending with Arsenal pounding away but instead Milan were playing keep-ball in Arsenals half.
Once again you can't argue with the numbers. In the Serie a's worst decade they still won the CL more times than the PL. 5th place Napoli (also first time in CL) beat 1st place City and are knocking out Chelsea. 2nd place Man U is facing elimination from the Europa league after losing at home to Bilbao. And now Arsenal is gone. To say one is consistently better than the other shows either A) Personal Ignorance B) Lack of knowledge about the game C) or Jealously. The Serie A deserves 4 spots as much as any league in the world.
With Arsenal fans like that, who needs spuds?
I am annoyed by the diving and the fact that they changed the sod on the flanks right before the 1st leg. for no apparent reason but to slow Arsenal down.
They won, but they have gone done in my eyes. A team with such talent should not have to resort to lowlife tactics and that is what they did.
Lowlife tactics? Well time wasting is never pretty, but honestly, every team in the world do it.
The reason why you guys changes the pitch was to nullify the speed on the flanks. Everyone may play on the same pitch but every team does not play the same way.
As if you did not see what a big difference the picth made?
