Chelsea just copied Man Utd. Remember they were at the Europa League last season after being knocked out by a mere Basel FC but were humilated by Atletico Bibao. Guess Chelsea will do better than Man Utd did last year. Doubts me when no one speaks when Man Utd fails...
It's difficult to thin the line between a win, and a win against a team like NOrdlasjdklasjdiow3uihw. But, a win none-the-less, and saying goodbye to Champions League title defense. *sigh* Europa League, here we go
at least you guys returned home with your heads up, unlike our noisy neigbours
Manchester City=> Madchester City. LOL
can't help but hate on City...smh
best of luck this Sunday lads!

Sad to see Chelsea eliminated From UCL, but I'm happy that Man City also gone. And I wish Chelsea good luck in Europa League.
Good to get a strong win. Hopefully this can start a recovery this season.
Happy for Torres. Maybe he's back to Liverpool ways?
haha, no way...but it was better from him.

Well, i would also like to request all Chelsea fans that now that our team is out of the tournament, please support Arsenal and Manchester United in CL. Watch their games and wish them luck, like they did when we played (Not everyone did, and not everyone will). EPL EPL EPL!!!! Don't let Spanish or Germans take over...
Chicaaaritttooooooo...... Podolssskkkkkiiiiiiiiii..... !!!! Bring it home boys. Even better bring it to London (But lets be real)
I see it going to Manchester...

But at least Chelsea qualified for Europa League last 32. Not like Man City, they are completely out of European football this season. By the way I'll support the Red Devils and Barca.
definitely not, will be supporting BVB.
^ What is wrong with you. I know so MANY fans from other EPL teams who supported Chelsea. Footytube comments used to be full of wished from them. Not Fair!
UNITY!
Great game, great scoring, great team play, and overall great goals. It's a damn shame that chelsea isn't getting enough support for it's managers. Chelsea is no Mediocre team, mind you they have amazing players, and absolutely legendary performances over the past decade. I think they're just being screwed over with this Manager problem. First Robert Di Matteo was given too much scrutiny despite his champion's league win, and now Rafa Benitez, Bareley coming on to manage a team that has already gone through two manager changes in the past year from Villas-boas to Matteo, I think it's unfair. They are really a good team.

i like the respect you give other teams. unlike some other fans who just hates.
Great game, even though its too bad Juventus beat Shakhtar, but we should've beat Juventus at home thats what got us. But Great game to finish out the Champions league atleast strong wit a bunch of nice goals and first win in while and for Rafa. Good to see, hopefully this will be a bit of a boost. Torres scoring was great and I think this will help him as well. I'm hoping for the best soon and should be good. Europa league won't feel right at all with being out of Champions League early but lets win it.

No more then we deserve if I'm honest. Maybe now Roman will learn that buying success doesn't work for too long. Sacking RDM was the wrong thing to do as he was building a team and that takes time. RA obviously didn't know what type of business he was getting into and doesn't understand football. We are not a team this season but a collection of individuals. but whats with the negative comments about chelsea and their fans... its the board and the owner that are ruining football not the players or the fans of chelsea. Rival fans pin everyone together and call chelsea a disgrace. Chelsea aren't a disgrace to football the higher ups of the club are and I'm sorry but they don't make the club. We deserved the CL last season based on how close with come over the last 8 years but not on the type of football we played and that showed against Athletico. We have a long way to go. Chelsea glory supporters can f**k off now and go support man u, city, barca or real and us real supporters will stay supporting chelsea with or without our c**t billionaire :) KTBFFH

Roman is the best thing to happen to Chelsea he has accelerated our climb to the echelons of European football. its a shame when i hear fans like u spit bile on such a passionate billionaire who has tried to make sure we get the best in terms of players and coaches at any cost. he is human and some of his decisions will be unpopular or ill-informed but we can all be sure that he isnt making those decisions to jeopardise the team rather it is for the better. Have u ever asked urself why Roman who can afford himself any amount of fun on a daily basis till he dies chose to be so emotionally attached to the club? He loves the club theres no doubt about that..if he makes decisions and it doesnt work out well in hindsight u must accept its a genuine mistake not a control freak thing like you are making it out to be.
+1
Oh yh know doubt he is the best thing that's ever happend to us. But don't be delusional, chelsea is a business to him and he's not just after a turnover in money he wants the label of no.1 'I am the Best look what i created' He is power hungry...you think he'll stick around if we don't win anything in the next 3 years..i doubt it he'll get his money back and go elsewhere. The fact is I am disgusted with the way chelsea is being run sacking manager after manager buying player after player and blaming the manager when these players don't gel and not coming up with our own youth and yet we have one of the best youth squads out there. He wants instant success which is understandable but he drove away the one man that could and did do this for us and that was jose. And what are you talking about the decisions he has been making haven't been working for the last 5-6 years and he still hasn't learned from them. And well of course he is a control freak he owns a club he's aloud to be but he doesn't understand football and the board are useless at guiding him just a bunch of yes men. The fans would much rather not win the CL and PL for the next 2,3,4 years and then go on to be powerhouses of football for the next 10-20 with a new model (much like man u) then get instant success for 3-4 years and then nothing for ages. He want's chelsea to be the envy of every team, a revolution...well he's going the wrong way about it

I mean yh in the last 5-6 years we've won 4 fa cups 1 PL 1 CL and the league cup but that was all on instant success and now we are struggling because in them years we didn't build a squad we stuck with the same players and didn't introduce youth to learn from the best such a lamps JT and drogba and now without them we aren't doing as well. I don't blame the new players because they are still gelling but if we had introduced youth at an earlier stage, not necessarily these players, we would be in good condition now and good enough to win titles. I'm not sure if we are this year :/
It was great,
a little too late,

I'm not gonna be smug, even though it's hard not to with what I remember from - some, not all - Chelsea fans in spring when after their semi-final victory you dared say that there might just have been a tiny sliver of luck involved.

Chelsea are not the best team in Europe measured by skill, and I'm convinced they weren't last year either. But they fought to their teeth and made it count and became the best team in Europe by the most important definition, the CL title. Trying to belittle that achievement retrospectively is stupid and unfair.

But that idiot Abramovich thinks this means he's now got Barça and Real Madrid combined for a squad and starts holding di Matteo, who pretty much performed a miracle, to that delusional standard and sacks him less than halfway into the season. Though I'm sorry for every decent Chelsea fan out there, what's happened is in some fundamental way right. Because freaking Abramovich too needs to realize that you can't just buy titles. The competition at the top is too strong. You need a plan, you need a certain degree of consistency and just because a heroic team can beat the odds every now and then (Chelsea 2011/2012) in a knockout tournament, you can't set this as the new standard.

Chelsea out. City out. PSG struggling in France. The oligarchy is in trouble.
+2
You are in trouble too mate trust me...there's no favourite for this years competition. we might be out but we can blame it on the transition our team is struggling with.

Since we beat u guys on our way to victory away at bayern in the final so many experienced players have left and we basically have a new team and trying to rebrand our style of play buying young stars to play and grow together...that is planning mate. But i know peeps like you only see what u want to see....whatever makes u sleep well son.
I acknowledge the team is in a transitional stage - what you're paying for now is the lack of planning from years and years of myopic Abramovich policy; and I don't trust the "rebranding" yet when after a few bad matches the coach who finally, against all odds, conquered the Holy Grail for Chelsea is sacked because Roman is sad about the events of the last 20 seconds.

If Chelsea build a sustainable model with a young team, I really don't see myself hating on it. I have better things to do.

Also, how am I in trouble? I'm not personally in trouble if my team goes out, and my team has won its group. Also, I've seen my team win this competition three times since 2006, most fans don't see their team win the CL three times EVER, and I very much appreciate that privilege.
@stevenson. Let me say it as a Bayern fan. Chelsea are a disgrace to football and have been for many years. The team that set the worst example of how to ruin the game with money injections. The world of football was served justice by showing all that once in a a blue moon even a thunder hits the toilet that is Chelsea. Not a single person in their right mind would call chelsea champions of anything, let alone Europe.

@Bayern13: You're absolutely right about that. "The world of football was served justice by showing all that once in a a blue moon even a thunder hits the toilet that is Chelsea." That made me LOL. You're spot on. ;-)

Bayern13...u are such a pathethic case of extreme bitterness and the vile u spit from your sewage will only add to ur stench. Chelsea have become a Worldwide brand just like Real Madrid,ManU,Milan etc bcos of Roman's money what is wrong with that? Every team that has dominated Europe in any era owe much of that to their financial clout and we are no exception.
Let me tell u who u are son...u were lucky to be born into a wealthy family and you flouted your parents riches in our faces but we put up with it bcos u were obviously way above our level. now we won the lottery...and can buy who we want, spending the paper like its going out of fashion and now u are BITTER?!!

you are a disgrace to concede an equaliser in the 88th min, miss a penalty in extra time, bungled ur penalty shoot out after being 3-1 ahead before Lampards kick and all this happened in front of the goal where your fan base where camped. You have lost 2 finals in how many years?

SHAME ON YOU!!
Champ119...i see bitter birds of the same feather flock together, u both lost to us lolxx come back for a chat if u are the next european champion.
"Every team that has dominated Europe in any era owe much of that to their financial clout" you make me LOL aside did man u get CL cause of money? did barca? did liverpool? there are teams that can do it without injecting millions and just buying superstars and getting lucky
if u make a list of all the teams that were in the competition in those years i'm sure u will notice that richer teams did better in the competition.period!
Of course you need a rich club to win the CL. The last financial underdog to do it was Porto 8+ years ago, and even they aren't exactly a pub team from Yorkshire.

What is true is that Chelsea, like City and PSG or to some extent Málaga, are teams that have come from somewhere around upper to lower mid-table existences and been given an instant boost by extremely rich owners. I'm no fan of that but I wouldn't hate on it because football is a business and the team I support is rich too. What I find disturbing is instant-gratification clowns like Abramovich who don't appear to give a flying f#ck about the traditions and the style of a club and think they can inject money, buy immediate success and blame any manager who doesn't achieve it within weeks. And as we've seen, you can also achieve success within weeks and still get sacked when you have a few bad results next season. That's just pretty messed up.
Chelsea fan here speaking.. I just wanted to say its not Di Mateos fault.. its whoever is in charge of him. Abramovic does not give any coach a chance. Ferguson f****d up many seasons and hes still there, a few games do not say s**t about the coach hes still getting to know them better as a coach and thats fine.

And about playing in the Europa League, the Chelsea "fans" who said theres no shame in it.. there is.. we were champions of europe and now were in the europa leauge. we shouldnt even bother with that because its jst an embarassing trophy to have if you get it anyways. so chelsea fans stop pissing me off
