What a game in front of a low crowd, I mean 2 goals by Black burn take lead of game, then Newcastle get 2 late goals in front of away supporters pretty great for them and then a goal by each in extra time, and then the last minute bit of an ugly goal at end of game to win for Blackburn so they beat the Newcastle squad unbeaten at home, so good for them, and Newcastles orange jerseys were interesting

Referee was Sh*te and Newcastle deserved to win it but that is the beauty of footy and cup games. Great game by both teams, Blackburn had the luck on the day

Don't even care that much that we lost this. Incredible match and a great performance from both teams. We're still looking strong despite this minor setback and showed again that when it matters we have the ability and determination to pull back a result (even if we did lose eventually). It's a shame we aren't progressing but hopefully Blackburn can pull themselves out of trouble with this confidence.

There aren't any replays here but...

1) Ba was blatantly fouled - no pen given
2) Krul clearly won the ball - pen given

Referee had a mare.

Yeah i would love to see some better slow motion replays of those two incidents as well, because there's nothing clear from this video. Just shows how tough the refs job is. That's football though, eh?

All being said, I'd much rather have lost last night and be in Newcastle's position in the league than won and still be bottom of the league.

To be fair I think we were due some luck in refereeing decisions (especially after what happened when Newcastle beat us 3-1) but it's swings and roundabouts in football

in the brief history of the carling cup this should be considered a classic
and also
this is usual amongst teams struggling in league play to do well in cup competition i notice
why cant Blackburn make the final?
