The defence is looking a lot better in terms of depth this season. Some nice wins already without a really good performance yet, from what I've seen.

Villa played well, but birmingham didnt play bad either.
No, Villa got the win, but didn't play well at all. Milner had his worst game in awhile, and if Gabby could finish better and Carew give the final pass better then it would have been 3-0 instead of 1-0.
The good thing about these wins is that it's clear the team is in no way playing their best. Milner and Young especially are not sharp, and Carew has yet to go the full 90 hasn't he?
This game was horrible untill carew came on, dunne looks like a quality piece of business though proper solid. Spose any result over the blues is a good one though haha!
