All these Madrid fans boasting of their numbers in La Liga. But that league is just Madrid, Barca, and 18 other unfortunate teams with no chance of a title. There's a 24 point gap between second (Barcelona) and third, whereas in the Bundesliga, a similar 24 point gap exists, but within it are the top 9 teams.

Basically, you can't compare these two teams (or leagues even) at any time. They have played very different opponents, Madrid has had no trouble at all in the CL this year, whereas Bayern have emerged from the Group of Death in first place, even with a game to spare (why we lost 0-2 to City, that game meant nothing to us.) Bayern are used to tough opponents so far this year, Madrid, from what I can tell, aren't.

Plus, having the first game at the Allianz Arena will be a big shock to Madrid. In 20 games at home this season, Bayern have scored 64 goals and have only conceded 8. That's a pretty daunting statistic..

I just wish this would be the final instead of UEFAlona vs one of these true European giants.

I'll grant that the Madrid fans on this site trend towards obnoxious, but the truth is that Real Madrid are a fantastic side this year in real terms. Even with an easier route to the semis and only one competitor for the Liga title, Real are going to give Bayern a serious run for their money. It will be a very fiercely contested tie.
thats just scary, bayern no where near the class they can be and they manage to devour french giants, real beat apoel. i have great respect for apoel they have passion and fight like no other but real cant compare them to bayern monsters. i think it will be 2-1 to real at the Santiago Bernaubau, and then 4-1 to bayern at the cave that is the allianz arena, i dont see real coming out alive from that place, as beautiful as it is.

So... Any thoughts of how we may do against Real Madrid?

for the first leg, without lahm, kroos, and muller, bayern might have a big probs, what matters now higuain, benzema, and ronaldo are in good form.so i might say bayern has less chance than madrid.but who knows going to happen in the pitch.
1st. Leg Bayern vs Marseille, the french side got a lot of chances and they missed them all... Madrid won't miss them.. Yeah Bastian, Robben, Ribery, Muller and Gomez are beasts, but tell me about Real.. Di Maria, Higuain, Benzema, Ozil, Ronaldo and btw Kaka is back.. just compare the goals scored! Madrid's goal were world class compared to the "so-so goals" you guys scored vs Marseille!
Come on! It's going to be an awesome game, but Real will be in the final against Barça!
..and another one talking bs ... names...goals ... :D we are Bayern and they are scared, but you will see!! till then enjoy world class goals against Nikosia... sweet dreams

goals against a side like Nikosia are so hard to be scored... really...
Beating Ajax & Lyon twice in the group stages is so easy to do... Bayern will be our hardest test thus far, if Carvalho, Pepe, Ramos, Coentrao are our back four then we stand a chance of not conceding any goals.
Sorry I have to do this now, but the rules of pre-game trash talk compel me to do so.

Your little feline defenders stand no chance against our manly beasts of manliness and skillness. Your kitty defenders were able to bodily hurt a very pocket-sized Messi and may try to perpetually motion the referee to your side, but they cannot do so against our 2m tall Gomez, very agile Robben and frankly, you do not jazz with the Franck. You will drown in a pool of our liquid awesomeness, whilst we stay inside our boat arena and win the cup.

Much love.

Your manly beasts of manliness and skillness are... SECOND place, in 28 matches they got 60 Points,GA67;GH18=+49, you got 13 points in CL's Group Stage by loosing vs City 0-2 and tied Napoli 1-1. Bayern scored 22 Goals in CL

Only goals against Nicosia? Sit down fool!
30 Matches and FIRST place with 78 Points,GA100;GH27=+73 and 18 Points in CL's GS and +26 goals in CL.
Real scored 32 Goals in CL.

BS.. names.. goals? Shut up fool!
La liga: Benzema: Asst7&Goals17
Higuaín; Asst4&Goals20
Cristiano; Asst10&Goals37

Much love!

It will be a great semi-final that's for sure. All football/soccer fans should enjoy this matchup. Our two great teams haven't played in so long, it's a shame. The beauty of this matchup is that both teams are capable of beating one another. We can definitely beat Real Madrid and they can definitely beat us. Honestly for two really great teams this is a very even matchup, the best part is both of our teams are relatively young so I'm hoping this is the start of a long term rivalry! I'm anxious/excited and certainly hope we win, but should be a great matchup either way.

Sir, your facts speak true! Alas for you, your outfit have yet to prove themselves this season against a champions league worthy team, hailing from one of Europes finest four leagues. Where as we, may I add, have already demonstrated our strength repeatedly. I hope you consider this fact, before inadvertently embarrassing yourself against fellow footballing enthusiasts. A game is not defined by cold numbers, but by warm motivation to play the final at home, encouragement from our fans and honest love for the game, without perplexing amounts of deceit or barbarous displays of violence your band of footballers so vehemently exhibit. We are Bayern, for we own the finale. Literally.

Thank you for your attention and time. Good day to you sir.

Gonna be quite the close game.
Good win for Bayern, they didn't have all the stars playing like Schweinstager and who ever and didn't start Gomez, but good 2-0 home win, Marseille was hoping for a comeback away goals but Munchen did well, nice for Olic to get rare Champions League start, he looked like he was trying hard and got 2 nice goals good for him, Real Madrid and Barcelona going to be intense!!
Always thought Mandanda was an amazing keeper. Its just that poor French sides dont get much respect as all the media look for teams from EPL and La Liga. Hope Bayern make it to the final.

Real Madrid is like Arsenal. Both play amazing football but when they meet up with their rivals they choke.

Madrid vs Barca always goes in Barca's way
Man U vs Arsenal always Man U wins

Bayern makes it to the final Pep Guardiola will be so nervous. Because Barca will have a nightmare to defend against Robbin and Ribery. Barca's defense is more solid in the middle and they are slow in the wings.

good insights!

Madrid vs Barca always goes in Barca's way? How old are you? 14? Whatever!

Madrid are like Arsenal. lol

Zizu, Compadre, I was just gonna let it go, but since your poor simile's are apparently contagious to those susceptible to basic, misinformed, comparisons, I feel the need to retort before your nonsense spreads any further. There are children on here for Christ's sake.

Arsenal are not like Madrid. If anything, Arsenal are more like Barcelona (the B grade version) anyone who knows anything is well aware of that longstanding comparison. Arsenal's rivals are NOT Manchester United, they are Tottenham Hotspurs, whom Arsenal beat 5-2 on their last encounter.

Don't use words like 'always' considering that when you mention Barca v Madrid and Man U v Arsenal, you are only talking about the very recent history (potentially due to your attention span). Regardless you were right about a few things.

Many clubs, like Madrid and Arsenal fall weak to the intimidation of playing clubs like Barcelona and Manchester United.

Barca do have to be wary of Bayern's wing-play. Not because they are slow on the outside -- Alves is one of the fastest players -- but because of Arjen Robben. Abidal, when fit, is still Barca's weakness in the back. He would be going against Robben, who at any given time, can conjure a moment of brilliance i.e. World Cup 2010, CL semi-final against Man U.

But make no mistake about it, Barca have played Bayern before. They are well-aware of the threat that Munich pose and they are ready for it. So I am reluctant to see Bayern go up against Barca because I can't stand to see Bayern be outclassed when they are so close to their top form this season. On the other hand, they could still win it.

Just my thoughts: I really don't think real has played any tough team yet and that they will be badly exposed at this meeting (vs Bayern) again just my thoughts. But lets see if I am right. best of luck to both teams
+1
Real played s**t against Barca every game but still managed to score some goals. They will always score goals, it depends on whether Bayern can score more.
+2
@ Lryikal I've said it before that Madrid has not been tested yet.... so far they've only played crappy teams Barca is the only tough team they faced so far and y'all beat em! so Bayern is a big test for them and I hope Bayern will come out victorious God Willing!!
Madrid hasnt played any tough team.. Wow. Ajax and Lyon arent?

Valencia, Sevilla, Atletico, Malaga arent tough teams?
+1
good teams no doubt but not world class like barca and bayern
sorry compadre lyon and ajax arent even in the top 10 clubs in the world in my book
Iviiiii!!! Look how happy he got!! :D:D:D

put a smile on my face when he went over to the bench
I missed you Olic!
Could've been a goal slut for Bayern again if it wasn't for Mandada

HAHA! "goal slut"? What?
lol....yeah. like Ass Rapping...ROFL

haha, just bangin' in the goals.

rooting the back of the net..
I think Bayern is better than Madrid. But we will see.
So to sum up, Bayern is better than Madrid and Liverpool wins.
What a shot stopper Mandanda is.

Bayern vs madrid this should be interesting, but i think barren is going to give it to them
one does not simply mistake Bayern for 'barren', my friend. These two words have stark contrasts in meanings :)
^^doesn't look very barren to me.

my bad boys, bayern is going to give it to them.
ivica olic is some venomous forward player =P

Ribery is a beast.

Damn, those yellow cards r gonna hurt. 4-5 Bayern-players have 2 yellow cards. If they dont have their best players in the Final, they shouldnt even play against Barca.
Real shouldnt be a problem though. I would say:
first leg: 3-1 in Munich, secong leg: 1-1 in Madrid
Well, it's gonna be a Real problem for Bayern but if rapists, i mean robbery, are on fire, impossible is nothing.
But for sure we know is that it's gonna be one hell of a match!
