Almost every year at least one la liga team outside of RM and Barca make it at least to the first round of champions league knockout stages and fare well again equivalent English teams.

Just because EPL is marketed more to us as English speakers, and has more money, doesn't make its individual clubs better. In some cases, in fact, it just popularizes players without any decent backing. If there can be an argument, however, for EPL dominance, it would have to be attributed to money..

Wait, I dont get why Arsenal is on that list. Didnt they lose like 8-2 to one of the other teams on that list?

I think overall EPL is better. It has more competition across the table. Spain might have the two best teams in the world but other then that Spain doesnt have much to offer. Once in a while teams like Villareal, Seville, Atletico Madrid, and Valencia make good runs in european competitions. But not as often as they should.

Villareal was embarassed by Porto in the Europa League. Valencia was beaten by Schalke, a team that was closer to the relegation zone than to midtable for the majority of the season. Atletico Madrid lost to Bolton, a mid table EPL team, in the Europa League. I also think that mid table EPL teams are better than the Spanish teams.

However, I think that if you put Barcelona or Real in any other league right now, they would breeze to the title. But the differences between the two and the rest of the league is not something for La Liga fans to be proud of. Its actually quite sad sometimes.
