Allez Auxerre!! So glad to see them going back to Champions league... Like in the old days!! There will be revenge in the air for Ajax as I'm sure they still remember the UEFA Cup lost quarter-final against us...
For a small club in a smal city, we already have quite some experience: Quarter-final of Champions League in 97, Semi-Final of UEFA cup in 93, Quarter-final of UEFA cup in 90, 98, 2005 and Quater Final of the Cup Winner's Cup (C2) in 95... Not bad!

Dennis Oliech is one hell of a talent to watch. He must be the best assissting forward in Ligue 1 and one of the best in Europe. Thats why Auxerre made it this far!

Most refs would have given the penalty against Auxerre. If it stops the ball from going towards the goal, they usually give.

Zenit needs a better manager, one who could teach them the set pieces. Crowded in the box and still they let Auxerre score twice.

All in all, as our friend Tinimi here points out, Auxerre is a town with only 40,000 people. Long live the underdogs and good luck to Auxerre!

yeah, i was born in a town of a similar population and i just can't imagine that there could be a team which plays in champions league in such a small town. David vs. Goliath, history repeats itself;) and jelen's goal was amazing. although i must say, even when they were down to 9 men, zenit were posing danger to auxerre's goal, pretty inconsistent performance in defense by the French, except Hengbart of course

Man, you got that right. On doing some back ground check I gather he is from Kenya in Africa. He is stronger than Drogba, faster tah Thierry Henry and as accurate as Zidane. Check more of his highlights and just check how he has carried Auxerre almost on his own to where they are. Jelen thrives on his assists and pace!

i told you after the first leg they could make it! i was there it was beautiful. And Auxerre is a 40 000 inhabitants city lost in the countryside! Hope they'll surprise some more
