Di Maria played like a school girl in this game, why did he s**t himself? Marcelo, very hard working. Good goal by Ronaldo.
Bravo Real Madrid! wasn't easy to win a derby match like this keep strong! and get a striker to support Ronaldo!
it's always a good feeling after u win against ur city rival ;-)
Why so much hating on the forum today? I don't see Barcelona playing in any of the games on this page...As for people saying Ronaldo is selfish, hmmm....he has 22 goals in La liga (around 50% of RM goals) and like 30 or 31 in all competitions...he has been decisive in their entire season where they have lost 2 games and drawn 5. He has the second most amount of assists on the team with 9. He has played more minutes than any other player on the team. In his 65 app for the team since his TRANSFER to a new league and new team (even with a vastly different XI than last year), he has 65 goals aka 1 goal per game ratio for a second striker at best (compared to a Winger, or AM). Even in el clasico, he was the only one that seemed likely to conjure anything at all, and was working as hard as or more than any other player in the team. Rumor has it...he also started defending at times. There has been substantially less diving noticeable in his game, although not gone entirely. In their last draw against Almeria, he forced several great saves and hit the crossbar in the last minute.

Now for those who want to compare him to Messi go ahead. Messi has one less appearance and the same amount of goals this season. Messi has 16 assists, 7 more than Ronaldo. Messi has played 2045 minutes, to Ronaldo's 2747.

However, David Villa and Pedro have scored 16 goals each for a total of 32. Their Next highest scorer is Iniesta with 6 but let's forget that for now and compare it to the next highest scorers on RM.

Villa (16 G) + Pedro (16 G) = 32 G
Higuain (10 G) + Benzema (9 G) + Ozil (8 G) + di Maria (6 G) = 33 G

I believe Messi has better numbers, and is still the #1 player in the world. but the final equation is Ronaldo = RM atm. If Messi does not play, Barca still have a reasonable chance of beating any other team. If Ronaldo does not play, Real Madrid is dazed and confused.

At the end of the day, both are football clubs and both have their evils. In equal measure. Messi and Ronaldo are the best players in the world, but the latter is more important to their team's success. Suddenly $80 million is not such a high price tag for either of them.

Yeah well their both great, can you tell who's better between Picasso and Van Gogh ?

Probably not and even if you can the person next to you may think differently.

I want a comparison on Bush and Obama please.

Well if it was van gogh, pollock, monet v picasso and some knock off rembrandt....
Marcelo is really turning into a quality wingback, needs to work on his crossing though. He has great pace and dribbling ability. He's definitely one of the more underrated players on this team.

In 20 years scientists will be able to take DNA samples from Pele, Maradona, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo9, Ronaldo7 and Messi to make the perfect player of all time. Also they will take DNA samples from the best players in history to play in all different positions of the game to form the greatest staring 11 in football history, this team will use a time machine to go back in time and play a match against the 2010-2011 Barcelona squad to which they will lose by the score of 5-0.

Both are great clubs, but I don't think there's any doubt which one is better right now. In head to head competition Barca absolutely destroyed Real making them look like a 3rd division side. Barca's style is much better than Madrid's as they've proven in that match. A team of great individuals will always beat a bunch of individuals. I also prefer the way Barca builds their club, through their own philosophy and youth system. Real just buys every great player in the world they can get their hands on without rhyme or reason. Even when Barca buys a few players to add to their home grown talent they do so intelligently. Real is a revolving door with no concept of long term team building. This is why while Real may win the league now and again Barca will always be superior long term. They do things the right way.

this is true, RM players are selfish
well this has always been rm's problem. they get the best of the best players, and than they just dont work together well. but when they do they play beautifuly. apart from that theyre a great team always have been.
oh ronaldo!
that back heel pass was phenomenal!
his pace is unbelievable too,
im happy to live in the time of ronaldo and messi,
its just pure football!

i totaly agree with u instead of comparing them we should be thankfull to have such players fighting for the 1st place, by the way this ''duel'' make them stronger i think

Of course it does, when you have a rival you work harder to be better than him.
can we have him back pleez?
what an entertaining game it was. It just needed a few more goals.
On counter-attacks RM need to look for their players more because many times they hold the ball too long and the many scoring chances goes away, i mean on counters there's always cr7,ozil, di maria, benz ,kaka khedira and how often do these counters turn out to be goals maybe 1/3, i saw cr7 take the ball from behind the half and take it past about 6 a.madrid players and he had the option of ozil and di maria and he too too long with the pass and di maria slipped and cr7 passed it to a.madrid players perfect e.g. of not being aware cr7 on counters plus his teammates need to be less selfish and pass and to be honest there's no other team on the planet as fast as RM is on the counter and they don't really exploit it to full effect because it would keep really keep team pegged back but i'm no coach

thats cause ronaldos a hog
He's been so unselfish this last cople of years, but he knows he got to score for madrid to be able to win... he knows its, his teammates knows it, he scores 50% of his teams goals so it's normal that he got to take his luck, because there are alot of inconsistent players at Madrid right know who are verry young & need more playing time to fully adapt, not everyone adapts as quickly as Ronaldo did, with time I think Ronaldo's assists will go up because his teammates will simply be " better ".
+1
Wow. In this one counter attack, Ronaldo missed 7 opportunities to play a good and deadly pass. And the time he passed, there was no more opportunity. That's why he is far from being the best player these days...
+1
Yeah true his pass for di maria realy suck : / c'mon don't judge on one action man ...
+2
i agree he should have passed alot sooner as bot di maria and ozil were in great positions but he will get better with that. i hope mou goes over the vids with theses players and show them their mistakes and let cr7, di maria and marcelo see their mistakes in attack and defence

Casillas almost conceded a goal in the most stupid fashion! Unbelievable! Anyway, great passing play on the goal proving that Real plays as a team, which is something that a certain person in this forum doesn't understand...I don't know if their passing play is better or not then Barcelona's, but they use different styles and bottom line they are great teams, it's only a question of choosing your favourite! I personally prefer Real Madrid, however I'm not going to argue with someone you likes Barcelona because each team is one of a kind!
However...let's see who gets more silverware at the end of the season...

i like real more than barca but im pretty sure barcas passing is from another planet whilst reals passing becomes better and better.

As I said they are diferent, and I think that has something to do with their midfield players: Barcelona sets three players that have to defend and attack with the same accuracy, while Real uses two DMF's. When one of them attacks the other one stays put and I think this is because Barça's frontmen take more part in the defensive process than in Real's case. Özil and Di Maria have more freedom to play, as they know that Khedira or Xabi Alonso (and sometimes Lass Diarra, if he palys)will keep the team balanced. In Barcelona, to put it simple, is a case of Total Football: it's a block that moves continuaslly wathever the team needs. However, I prefer Real Madrid's style lol.
