villa needs some goals soon, looks like its getting to his nerves. but what a game by barca, back to the passing and winning style. wonder where someone like masch will fit into the team.

After watching the foul of Amorebieta again, it should always be red: a tackle with a stretched leg towards the player will always break the player's standing leg if he hits it, because Amorebieta's full weight is behind it. No discussion IMHO, and a good decision from the ref.
Piqué's yellow however was barely a foul: Llorente just slipped and lost his balance, while Piqué held him back a bit. But no way that was a yellow. Then, further in the game, Iniesta, Bojan and Villa (twice) were taken down from behind (not in highlights), and he didn't even give a foul... Very odd ref.

Amorebieta was chasing the ball and there was no malice it seemed against Iniesta. It was certainly a very strong tackle but it was not from behind it was simply misjudged and mistimed. I think if Amorebieta was not famous for rough tackles (8 red cards in career) there was simply going to be a yellow. It was his first tackle of the game i think too.

I completely agree tho that this ref was very odd with his calls, very inconsistent.

It's not important if Amorebieta goes in from behind or not, but it is that he does it with a stretched leg. Again, if you do that, tackling at high speed, with the opposition player running towards you this can happen:

The first tackle in the pic is the bad one, the second is how it's done properly.
Therefore it's a standard rule the ref always should give the red card for that mistake. Even if the tackler hits the ball and not the player with that stretched leg, a ref should pull out the red.

its a difficult match for barca especially considering the condition of the field.. they played well and pretty unlucky not to score more. villa got a deserved red card because he couldnt control his temper but i feel for him. its annoying when u try to get up but someone gives u pressure from the back.. its a fair challenge but still annoying.. haha.. anyway, good game.. and congratz barca! still looking good when madrid draw at levante

Though Barca didnt have Messi they stilled played good football and created good chances as usual.
Keitas goal was a brilliant goal
