Ref got the penalty shout right, van persie has done really well but his last touch sent it through a cluttered area which already makes it look like hes going for a penalty. The way he brings his leg through, you can tell he looks for a penalty. Its a very smart thing to do that a lot of players do and get away with. RVP was unlucky not to get it but the ref did extremely well to spot it and give the correct decision.

nah, RVP was clearly focused on the ball alone, where he puts his feet which subsequently upended him was totally unintentionally on his part, thus even if the penalty wasnt given robin should not have gotten the yellow as it was clearly not a dive.

I didn't know that women also can referee in PL (no sexism guys ;p).

Really nice and open game, IMO yellow card for RvP was wrong decision.

Well i didn't notice till you mentioned it! I see you have a keen eye for women. I guess its a smart ploy by the FA to cut down on players arguing with the referee and linesman (or lineswoman)on controversial decisions. Imagine a bunch of men crowding around a woman and starting to quarrel with her---how unsightly!. Well of course I say this with the assumption that these footballers are civil men

Aston Villa outplayed Arsenal a little bit, and they deserved a draw or a win. Benayoun was such a promising talent with Liverpool and a trade to Chelsea killed his momentum, and possibly his career. Congrats Arsenal, but Wenger is gonna need to make trades soon.
