Vermaelen is just amazing. he has already 3 goals in the EPL and he's a center back. probably the best NEW player in the EPL at the moment
he is an average defender though. instead of kicking goals he should defend better. but yeah you are right not bad for a defender
i think he does his job in the defence, and u cant tell someone to stop scoring goals. his goals has come from corners and freekick. many defenders head goals in corners and freekicks, and he can take freekicks. so dont judge him.
and he only went to score a goal once, when he started the attack with a pass
