"I thought I made a good save, but it was a poor finish really. You're supposed to score from 3 yards out."
lol
Iniesta's goal is 10x better.... goals from free kicks are hard... but since they are basically a free shot, they shouldn't be considered for goal of the week... unless they are freakishly good, which this one wasn't. Respect RVP
Jog on!

yeah jog on. iniesta wishes he could score this.
yeah, a free shot from 30 yards out with only a wall of four or five very tall people standing in front of you with a balloon for a ball.. the shot is then expected to go past a keeper who is 6'5". yeah, much easier than a well controlled tap in from 5 yards.
Accuracy accuracy accuracy! You see that RVP freekick? Sufficient power, it is all about technique that takes years to develop. Pleasurable strike from the Dutchman.

Really top class performance from Van Persie

To be honest Larsson's Freekick was slightly better than Van Persie's one bt Persie scored at a crucial moment....dats the reason his goal is nominated more...

rvp's freekick was more of an angle too so i think that added it
U guys should have bought Hazard instead of Gervinho. Just saying:P
I kinda wish we did, but Gervinho wasn't a bad buy. He's playing pretty good. Just needs to pass a bit more instead of holding on to the ball, but he makes some sweet runs into the box from the wing.
typical that despite Larsson's goal being the better free kick, RVP's has twice the number of votes for goal of the week. They were both great, but does RVP's deserve twice the number of votes?
If you factor in the gravity of the goal, then yes. Not only was it brilliantly executed, but it was late, a game winner, and salvaged a desperate 3 points to avoid the further decent of a legendary team on the brink of collapse.

And if you factor in that Arsenal have almost 16,000 users on footytube by comparison to Sunderland's 253.....

great game, two great goals scored. keep it up Arsenal!
I think this is a new start for Arsenal. After Van Persie's reiteration of his committment to the club, he comes and pulls off 2 world class goals. Also, if you remember, Arshavin promised the fans earlier last week that he will start finding back his magical form which somehow disappeared--and he too comes up with that mazy run, which almost converted to a goal

Szczenzy is the best keeper in the league....no doubt
i'm sorry but 1 match can't tell anything, 17 times conceded in 8 games told everything.
It tells that he had a defense that played like shite. SZCZ is quality.
+5
yeah it does speak volumes, however not of Szczęsny but his defense which is a definition of rubbish. If it had not been for Tex, Arsenal would be in the relegation zone right now

23 goals in 25 games. Says it all.

He could walk into any team in the world

hands off ^^

goalkeepers shouldnt get the blame for goal scored, unless they make an obvious blunder. the defence starts from the forwards, then to the mids, then the defence, then the goalkeepers. a goalie is pretty much the last resort.
RVP is underrated and arsenal is nothing without him at the moment
+2
RVP so strong he can carry 10 men
+1
I don't think RVP is underrated, he's just overlooked at times.

ppl dont like cocky c***s like RVP, that's why they underrate him...
i cant quite picture VP as cocky, but everybody has an opinion....
There is the impression that RVP doesn't score goals with his right boot, but at least twenty of the 100 or so goals he has scored with Arsenal were with his right and some of them were excellent. Sunday he had another and almost scored an epic goal with a chip off his right. Like Messi and other sensational players, he definitely favors (and maybe excessively) one foot, but he is not as bad with his right as some people think.
+5
Who says that?
He's scored some great goals with his right.
All good strikers are two footed
Not I 49ers04, but I did say a few things that resemble what you have written. If you would be so kind as to condescend from your throne as King of Football Phraseology and explain to me how best to articulate the point that RVP has scored some great goals with his right boot, I would be much obliged.
BagiK: Of course all good strikers use both feet. It is just that RVP, even though he has long been considered to be a good striker, has still been much maligned for unduly favoring his left foot. Va bene?
one of his best goal was a right footed volley?
RVP YEA!!
SUPERMAN TEX : save of the season!

Robin van Persie is absolutely brilliant, that placing goal he missed which hit the goal post reminds me of Dennis Bergkamp famous goal against Newcastle. I thought Asharvin did well when he came on too. I hope he will continue to improve and relive his season where scored 4 goals against Liverpool. Finally, Szczenzy always have the best goal celebration! Forward Gunners! ='D
