SARCASM****messi under performs on international duty, messi is this, messi is that***BUT MESSI IS THE BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD.
Am loving our new coach!!!
idiots they are.. just because hes not scoring the goals doesnt mean hes not creating them. He created the chances for the first two goals, brilliantly i might add. so people can hate all they want, but they'll cry like babies if he retires from int'l football, and it is rumored that he will
haha god football fans are ridiculous...it takes about 5 seconds for someone to change their opinion of a player. messi has been playing well for argentina for ages but still copped it for "under-performing" on international duty. now everyone loves him (bit like what has happened with dzeko lately and the opposite of what happened to torres). I suspect it is mainly kids in the comments on footytube, but I mean people expect him to score every game. it's like when beckham went to LA and people who don't understand the game were disappointed he wasn't scoring every game...there's more to football than scoring...on a side note - I think dzeko will have his haters again in 12 months time...we'll wait and see

aguante argentina..aguante messi!!
apparently messi is gonna be 95 on the new fifa i wonder if that drops if you play with him for argentina
yeh it drops to 94...barcelona or argentina still the best in the world by a mile...all the haters have to hold on to is the fact that he is not as really really f*****g unbelievably insanely good for argentina as he is for barca, but just really really f****n good. that's slipping away from you though every single game he scores or assists game after game after game for argentina...
messi is soooo s**t
lol you wish hahaha...i think your referring to calumLUFC
+3
yeah sorry, I meant to type "CalumLUFC" but it came out "messi" instead, I must just be that freakin awesome

p.s. I was being sarcastic when I said messi is s**t
Why Messi is playing for Arg in every single international match? It's not necessary and meaningless. He needs to feel fresh before getting into matches. Aguero should get more chances to play as a starter, what we've seen for a long time is he keeps coming off the bench in the last 30 mins or so. And Higuain seems not at his best fitness still, his second goal was lucky. I hope he can find his form back so Benzema won't start for RM anymore. Also, why Demichelis was there for god's sake. Just give Garay and Gonzalo Rodriguez, and even Musacchio more chances please.

This game was held in my country Bangladesh. We have never hosted a match like this calibar. Thanks to both Argentina & Nigeria for playing in our country and promoting football. I am in US right now so I unfortunately missed the match. I would have been there with all my friends if I was in my country. As for the game, Messi was simply amazing. I hope more world class teams play exhibition game in India & Bangladesh because this is a huge market with potential growth for Football.

I am from Bangladesh too! I was super excited when I heard it but I live abroad, so I had to watch it on TV!

why... messi... why.... why are u playing for barca... why u are not playing for man u.... hahahahaha.......... damn.. this guy is purely amazing... sick of it... lolz
trust me, if he was playing for man united, you might not like his game
And why not? lol...
skills are better of displayed in la liga..

half of what he does in spain, if he attempts it in premiership; esp his solo runs with the ball or excess dribbling and misses, ppl will call him selfish...

you enjoy the premiership cos of how everybody gets invovled in the build up, the counter attack and defense

no offense, i haven't said messi is not good, but imagining fitting him into united squad.. it doesn't seem right

he played well with argentina squad yesterday, it doesn't mean he'll be thesame next time..
Messi would do well in any league int he world.... My argument is backed by this simple fact... C. Ronaldo did well in the premiership and yet Messi is better than him at creating plays, and scoring to some extent, so why would wonder whether he can cut it or not int he premiership?? All I see you arguing about is "consistency" if anything. Yet once again, Messi has been just as consistent/inconsistent as Ronlado on the international stage and even better than Ronaldo at club level.

Once again the following comment reflects what I see people do a lot on the internet when they comment on their favorite players: People either tend to be overly fanatic about a player and forget to watch matches consistently and rather focus on match highlights only.

Or, they fantasize about their player's potential and skills to an extent that makes you believe they are talking about video game characters... lol Like someone saying this ... but Ronaldo scores more goals than Messi in my Fifa 11 game!!! LMAO

saying messi wont fit in any other league is stupid. its saying that he wont do much without Xavi. its the same stupid argument with no backup! he could fit anywhere, its the coach's responsibility to figure out how to capitalize an individuals talent. argentina coaches hasnt been able to but pep figured it out. and im sure SAF can figure it out just as well!
+2
don't be stupid.. if you're refering to my comment, i never said messi will not fit into any league. i said you might not like his game if he is playing for united..

i might have used EPL (was referring to MU) to make elaborate my point..
.. if i should use man united; if messi were to be playing in united, many player will be rendered insignificant to the squad. what makes me enjoy uniteds game is how everybody gets involved in majority of their buid up; the surprise package of ppl like anderson, welbeck, park and so on scoring goals is the main reason i enjoy their games..

putting messi in there, what will happen to players like valencia, nani, cleverely... the pattern may not the suited and with the excess skills he will be stealing the show.. regardless of that

regardless of that, it's not often you you see a player who easily adjust to any type of football. ask ibrahimovich, shevchenko, kanoute (spurs), forlan (united), martin (Newcastle.. and so many other good players. everybody has a style of football that suits them and it's no doubt that Messi is more comfortable playing for this type of football in Barcelona. does Barcelona and united play the same way??

@Classius
classifying C. Ronaldo and Messi.. how naive.

1. they are complete 2 different players and both are good in their own ways.

2. ronaldo has been fantastic everywhere he has played.. from his youth career at Sporting CP, to man united where he became the Christiano ronaldo and in spain now where he has even improved better. not withstanding the fact that he gives his best every time he plays for portugal.. on the other hand messi has been playing for 1 team all his life. it is clear in his performance for argentina where he is never consistent. the fact that he played well yesterday does not mean he is good while playing for his national side..

ibrahimovich, shevchenko, kanoute (spurs), forlan (united), martin????? lol????? Everyone that has seen Ibra play knows that he isn't a high working player... he is a Balotelli type.. Shevchenko?? lol really??? did you ever actually see how Schevchenko scored the majority his goals??? Kanoute's game has always been based on his high work rate nothing else... Kanoute is Mali's answer to England's Heskey lol!!! Although I have to admit he has better stats...Martins!!!??? LOL that is the worst example I would had chosen to make a point lol!!!!

ANYWAY... your post has been OWNED!!!!!!!!!!!! already... so let it end that way lol

Everything you are saying are contemplation! why are you wasting time contemplating? Lets me true football fan for a sec and just enjoy the mans talent for what it is. why the hell do you even have mention that he wont fit in somewhere with (what might happen) contemplation. I really don't like comparing players that are different to prove if one player would make it in some other league or team, nobody truly knows that until it happens. its so retarded to argue about these things!
lets just admit that Messi is brilliant for Barca, and he will probably never join Man U. I mean Man U is great, but he is winning everything with Barca, both team trophies and personal awards.

wat a game by messi how can ppl only evaluate performnce with goals i mean look at him play n set up goals a team player iz far more better den a selfish 1...

I'll have to say argentina came out on top this time..

Messi.. WTF! who is this guy??

higuain, normally i won't be supporting against nigeria :) but i still love my boy... he is just awesome

it's good to see barcelona & madrid players working together for their country.. they just always mess up El classicos with stupid fights

Naija, better luck next time.. they just wanted to prove it was a weaker side we faced a couple of months ago :)

i like it when countries decide to play their friendlies in other places where football is not seen in the highest level.. it helps to bring the players closer to their fans in the outside of their zones.. this was brilliant..

brilliant by messi :)

wow one beutifull pass and the other is a beutifull attack and he was lucky not to score the 2nd one but its ok, messi is the best for argentina he plays in every single goal so critics stop hating
Messi was awesome...but no offence but argentina midfield and defence was s**t...if Nigeria was at full strength argentina would have conceded more goals
That is true, if Nigeria was fully fit and complete they could had at least tied this match. And I am not saying this because they are better than Argentina but because Argentina's defense does suck.... Otamendi is the only class defender on the squad so far..
3-4-1-2
wasnt a great game by messi but not a bad one either ..... there were moments wen he looked lost ..... not doin too bad either from copa america untill now he has about 6 assissts.....

its really simple ..... argentina is gettin him to playmake and score goals it wont wrk..... eithr let him score goals or get a DAM gud playmaker ...... dnt say he does both at barca bcuz at barca everyone naturally gets bcuz of style of play .. wich other team has a RB with ovr 10 league assists>???? lol.... pedro hav sumn like 8 .....

not pretendin though messi needs to step up more argentina needs defenders and midfielders !!! dats y i suggest 4 da moment ...
