Messi played amazing. He does play the CAM for Argentina because Argentina has so many fantastic strikers.

As for those asking about why it's the Costa Rica U-23 team, it's because Costa Rica and Mexico were invited to participated in the Copa America even though they aren't in South America. It doesn't mean they can't try to win but traditionally invitees field weaker teams because they are there as an honor.
This Costa Rica side is U-23 not U-21, they also have 3 senior players. This is the same way olympic teams work. Joel Campbell up front looks a real prospect.
To be honest, Argentina were always going to dominate this team even on bad form so they're not there yet.
Messi's way of playing has barcelona all over it. very pleasing to watch
Aguero has the potential to become the next star of Argentina, specially by playing along Messi, he benefits a lot from the great assists. By the way, liverpool spent 35 million for Carrol.
Really? I didn't know that. Still, Argentina played cool. Especially, Messi!
Not hating on Argentina here at all but, ain't this the U21 Costa Rica team???
Yeah that's what I heard and that's what the US should start doing now.

BTW great f*****g avatar, but you're a Galaxy phan boy now? tsk tsk.
Hahahaha... Since when was I a Galaxy fan boy??? I spit on the Galaxy till I die... Respect is there at times but never will I stoop to the level of any Galaxians...

I love the Bay Area too much... San Jose till I die... Been with them since the Clash... Since they move to Houston... Left the MLS and came back... I'm a little hurt by your words my friend... :( LOL...
Now that's more like it.
y is everybody so exited dey just won against costarica under 21 so really...thix waz a practice game...notin really
Because they finally got there game together, it was a big step from the previous games. May have not been the best team but a win is a win.
Messi is finally awake
Eh...big deal, people being euphoric over a win against Costa Rica...Let's see them against Uruguay.

Messi's final ball is un-be-f*****g-lievable. What a player.

Finally Argentina..
Finally, Argentina's manager finally realizes where he should play Messi to get the most out of him, he had an amazing game
messi is playing great but i wish he would score more like he does for barca
bro messi plays a xavi/iniesta like roll for argentina, we all would love to see him score more but seeing as he's the play maker, makes it harder for him to be the one scoring all the goals =P

SimplyGods I believe this is the Hundredth time you had to let someone know that Messi plays a Xavi/iniesta role in this team. Im wondering how you can keep saying it cuz ive given up.

@Dempsey98
It shows you how significant these types of mid-fielders are in a team like this. Like Xavi and Iniesta are for Barcelona. It might be a compromise for Argentina as this might be the closest they will get to playing like Barca. But at least most of the team members have started to be more efficient and are working well as a team.
they got like 7 world class forwards to choose from so its okay for messi to play a playmaker/midfield role
Aguero's finishing is great... Higuain's was disappointing, he had a few chances you'd expect him to bury.
Oh and Messi was great, CAM seems a good role for him when playing for Argentina. At least he can supply the strikers since no one else seems capable.

well being a play maker, holding all the strings is vitally important, hes just balling at it =P
